Morning all, how're we doing?
Congrats again to Lottie on your BFP!
AFM - Just waiting to ovulate - boring really! Have a charity curry lunch organised at work tomorrow so looking forward to that - should be fun!

You beat me to it Tayto! Curry lunch sounds good, shame it's over a day away for you!
Huge congrats again to Lottie!
AFM, I had the best news ever last night (well, so far - and no, not a BFP!) My BFF has been living in Wiltshire for the last 10 years, and shortly after she moved down there I moved up to the North East so we've spent a long time at opposite ends of the country and only seen each other once or twice a year. But now she's very possibly moving back up to Yorkshire - in as little as 3 weeks time! I am SO happy, it means we'll see each other a lot more, and H and I will get to be there for our godchildren's birthdays and all of that. It's put a huge smile on my face, I just really hope everything goes smoothly.
Hi to everyone who follows x

Congrat Lottie on your bfp lovely news xxx
Tayto - Saw your last post from yesterday, I have been to Bicester twice spent so much the first time I went there but didn't get much the second time. Would like another trip over there but it is about 2 hours from me. What day are you due to ov? Curry lunch sounds lovely yum!
AFM - Same as Tayto just waiting for ov which should be Friday or Saturday. Roll on the weekend I am so tired this week!

Missed you there ST! That is great news about your friend! x

ST - Oh that's fantastic news! My BFF is in Ireland and I only see her a few times a year too so I have an idea as to how excited you are! Any symptoms today?
Lulu - I'm expecting to ov around the same as you - Sat/Sun - love ov'ing at the weekend - more chances to DTD! Have you any plans for the weekend?
Discussion time! Was googl'ing yesterday and came across this: www.dailymail.co.uk/.../A-home-visit-Stork-New-100-fertility-DIY-kit-goes-sale.html
I like the idea but can't help but think what's the point of it because if you do know you have sperm issues, surely you will get help on the NHS? Or am I missing something here?! The cynical side of me thinks it's just another TTC gimmick for those of us who will try anything. Interesting to see in the comments the bits about the softcups.... I still have them but not tried them yet.... I might be tempted again this cycle!

Lottie - amazing news, congratulations!
ST - sounds fab about your BFF! I hope it all goes to plan.
Hi lulu! Looking forward to the weekend here too!
Hi tayto - I'm with you, I can't really see the point in it - you'd surely only know you had those issues if you'd had testing previously, and then would have access to those treatments? I know I'm not au fait with all the catchments etc involved in treatments, but it does seem a bit gimmicky.
AFM - AF has just about cleared off so time for the fun stuff to begin again. Will start OPK's Friday again I think in case this is a shorter cycle.

Tayto - I saw this a little while ago, not sure I would be able to try it. Some of the comments are so inconsiderate which just proves how many people just don't understand infertility. You'll have to let us know how you get on with the soft cups lol!
Sally - Glad af has gone!
Have any of you ladies been to Paris? Looks like H and I are going in November yay!
15/10/2014 at 09:57
Lulu - I have indeed been to Paris, I went for my birthday 2 years ago and then again for my birthday this year. Do tell more - how long are you going for, where are you staying etc?
Tayto - Distance between besties can be so hard sometimes can't it? I'm so excited that she'll be only 2 hours away! I'll have a look at the link later, it's hard in work because I have to be sly and use a really small window for my internet perusing!
Sally - Glad the old witch is almost gone!

Good Morning you lovely lot!
Huge congrats to Lottie!!!
Tayto - Happy DTD ;) Will check out that link in a bit.
ST - I am so happy for you! This is great news I can't imagine how much it's lifted your spirits!! I hope it becomes the second best news this week! How are you feeling?
LuLu - That's not fair you've just come back! Ha, only joking I think it's lovely, another nice thing to look forward to. I have never been to Paris but it's on the list! Between you and ST you are clocking up some air miles!
Sally - Glad she's gone! All the luck in the world for this month!
AFM - Nothing to report really, feeling a bit better today, no sickness or anything, but I woke up at 3.30 this morning, and it felt like an age before I got back off so I'm a little tired this morning. My sister in law is due in 6 weeks! I don't know if I told you but they had IVF too, and are expecting twin girls! We ordered the baby bouncers for them yesterday! Hopefully next year I'll be looking for my own :)

Just had a look at that link - I think for those just starting out TTC then it maybe worth investing in to try for a few months, but I do not see it as method for unexplained infertility, It bothers me that they are comparing it to IUI, it's nothing like! For one the best sperm is selected to go back which is probably the most important part in IUI, and ovulation is timed by bloods so no second guessing.

Hi Claire! It has lifted my spirits so much, it seems like there's just good news upon good news at the moment and I like it! I'm feeling OK, pretty normal - there are a couple of things I could probably over-analyse but I'm sure it's actually nothing because it's still too early. Glad you don't have the sickness today, and I completely sympathise on the tiredness - I don't know what time I woke up because I didn't check, but I bet I spent easily a couple of hours dozing at best before the alarm went. How exciting about your impending baby nieces!!
15/10/2014 at 11:53
Sally - glad AF has buggered off & you can get to the good bit!
Lulu - you're right, some of the comments really show how little people understand of infertility although I suspect trolls are at work on some of them! I've been to Paris twice and want to go again with H some time next year. I was there on a school trip when I was 16 which wasn't great but then went there again on a work Christmas do which was epic! We got stuck in Paris-Beauvais though because of the fog and were late returning to work on the Monday afternoon. It prompted management to send out a mail the following year to advise all employees not to organise Christmas parties outside of the country! You'll have a ball - make sure you do the typical touristy things like the Arc D'Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, walk along the Seine, etc. What made you decide to go there? And to repeat ST's post, how long for, where you staying?!
Claire - sorry to hear about the tiredness and hopefully that was just a one-off! Didn't know about your SIL but that's amazing news! My sis has twin girls too (not IVF) and they are just adorable - they're three now and double the fun - hard work but definitely double the rewards. She also reckoned that, because she had twins, she had to be more regimented with routine etc so felt she got into good habits early on.

ST - We will be staying about 10 minutes away from the train station, I'm so excited I've been wanting to go for so long!
Claire - Glad you are feeling better, how exciting for your sister in law fingers crossed you will be next eeeek! I almost wrote exactly the same thing with regards to IUI but deleted it in case I was wrong lol!
15/10/2014 at 11:58
Tayto I was a bit slow and missed you. What a great work Christmas party!! Forgot to say we are hopefully going for 3 nights, we like to try and go away on a city break before xmas most years and this year finally it is Paris :-)
You have a good attitude with all of this ST! Worse thing you can do is over think things.
Oh how lovely Tayto - it will take my tally up to 5 nieces! I am very lucky! I always said if I never had my own I know I'd be a huge part in my sisters girls lives, we have a special bond, in fact Amelia who is 9, sent me a text from her Mums phone last night telling me she loved me, I replied "love you more" she then replied "I love you much more than the end number and more than one direction" it made me giggle, she's such an angel.
15/10/2014 at 12:02
Gah, I'm so slow typing!
Claire - yep - you're absolutely right - it's nothing like IUI and I believe it could give false hope to those that have problems and should really be going for referrals instead of wasting their time and energies on something that may never work.
ST - that's nice it's lifted your spirits - hopefully it'll be the start of a bunch of nice things to happen to you
15/10/2014 at 12:14
Lulu - are you getting the Eurostar? What sort of things do you plan to do? If you want to go up the Eiffel Tower I'd strongly suggest booking your tickets online ASAP, to get tickets for the top you really need to book as soon as they're released - which I missed by a day this year so could only get 2nd floor, but we bought a ticket to the top once we were up there. The first time we went we walked up the stairs to avoid the queues - not something to take lightly at all!! Also, do not miss the Montparnasse tower - you get the BEST views of Paris and a direct view of the Eiffel Tower from there. It's especially amazing at sunset.
Tayto - Wow, what a Christmas do! We don't even have one in my team, I crash H's every year instead!
Claire - That's so cute! My goddaughters are also obsessed with One Direction. I'm not that close to my nieces which is quite sad, so it's lovely you've got such a strong bond with yours.
I've looked at the link now, and I don't think it's that new of a thing. I remember a couple of years ago now on the MTTC threads on Hitched, one of the girls used a home insemination kit and it actually worked for her. I do think the article is very misleading though, totally agree with all your comments on that!
15/10/2014 at 12:29
Lulu - 3 nights will be lovely and it should have a Chistmassy feel to it around then too - eekk, I'm so excited for you!
Claire - that's ever so cute! I try to write down the adorable stuff my nieces say so I don't forget :-)
ST - No xmas do?! That wouldn't work well at all with me! Although this company I'm with now are very tight with money - it's only £30 per person wheras my last place was €50 (in Ireland) and we always got our boss to pay for all our drinks - I really didn't appreciate how great they were to us at the time!
15/10/2014 at 12:38
Tatyo - My workplace isn't terribly social, there might be a rare night out once in a while but it's a far cry from when I first joined the company and was based in Leeds - we went out every Friday without fail then! I think it's largely because my old boss, who retired this summer, was incredibly anti-social and anti-fun. It's alright though, I like H's team a lot and always have a fun night with them. Last year at the xmas do his work wife threw a drink over me, accidentally I might add, but it's one of those things that will go down in legend haha. I'll be out with them all in a couple of weeks over in Stockport for a big birthday - that's a mark of how great his team are, they'll travel quite some distance for any of their colleagues for whatever occasion. My team wouldn't!
15/10/2014 at 14:10
Claire - That is so sweet bless her!
Tayto - Thanks I'm so excited!
ST - Thanks so much for that will definitley want to go up Eiffel Tower so will google now! We want to do all the touristy stuff and eat good food and drink lots of nice french wine lol! Yes we will go with Eurostar hoping H is going to book it soon!
That is a shame you don't at least have an xmas do ST, would it be worth trying to organise drinks out one night? Glad you get to go to your H's they sound like a great team. My work aren't that sociable which is the one thing I miss from my last job, used to love going out for a cocktail after work hardly ever do it now.
what does everyone else do for work xmas do's? We have a meal and drinks at a nice London hotel and some go clubbing after, I went to the club the first year but can't anymore now I've moved.
