Are they possible?
got a faint positive opk on the 27th - day 11. CD12 brought a strong opk around tea time so I put that down as my positive. Then CD13 showed a strong opk again so I thought that was fine. So I was expecting to ovulate maybe yesterday?
This morning with FMU, another stonking red line.... now I'm wondering when the hell I'm going to ovulate!
Anyone else had so many? wish I had taken pics now but the previous ones are faded....

A faint positive isn't a positive at all. Nor is a strong line, unless it is darker than the control.
Your LH has to be above a certain level before it will cause a follicle to burst, and so until it reaches that level, it doesn't mean anything. The control line on OPKs is the minimum darkness that the test line needs to be to indicate a high enough level of LH.
You also shouldn't use FMU, and should do them at the same time each day. However it sounds like this morning's was the only true positive among them.
If you're confusing yourself with the OPks, maybe try the digital ones or a CBFM?
Some people do get true positive for three days. Mrs 50s springs to mind! Hers were ridiculously positive for three days, but they didn't vary. They were just DARK!
Do you temp so you know when you have ovulated in relation to your OPKs?

what ducky said, you dont get faint positives, it either is or it isnt. if its darker than control then its positive. also best to test between 2-8pm rahter than fmu, so can you test later?

As the others said. I use ic OPKs then back up my lines with a CBD although when i get a positive on the ic is pretty easy to see and no double check required.
I got positives on the ic and CBDs 2 days in a row last cycle which was strange for me. I got my first positive on the Thursday evening and second on the Friday evening and actually ov on the Friday night late on.
Sounds like good news though if you're getting a positive. I have everything crossed for you my love xx

sorry it meant to read I had a faint LINE not a faint positive, then I had subsequently the 3 strong lines and I have always tested with FMU and then a later day one, cos I don't always get a line with FMU so when I do get one it means business.... and often a clear blue 2 line stick is positive as well (as I use them to back up my others but have none this month)
I stopped using the CBFM as a) I read that once I had a peak I was wasting sticks by continuously using them till AF came and b) I was getting so many highs and few peaks and c) couldn't reset the b*ugger properly so its in the depths of a drawer somewhere....
I've never had a problem using OPKs and get them every month usually - its only the blood tests that confirm the ovulation but as I said I had had 3.
And the test lines can MATCH, don't have to be darker.

Top CBFM tip, once you peak just po and insert old sticks. No need to use new ones ;-)

It automatically gives you 2 peak days regardless doesn't it? Otherwise you could potentially miss a peak, using an old stick... I was using old sticks and think the software got confused eventually, AF was arriving way before the M would flash or days after the M would flash...

Using FMU with OPK’s can give false positives, so I’m not sure if I’d trust this mornings.
You are correct, they can be ‘as dark as’, but very often that is down to individual interpretation. I have seen a few times where someone has posted a picture thinking it is positive but I wouldn’t personally have classed it as that.
Also, whenever I had a true positive on an OPK it stayed positive even as it dried out and faded. If it was a nearly positive it always faded away.
Remember to take photos next time, then we can all have a look :)

my evening stick was even darker than the morning stick so I'm happy enough with that.
I've been using them for nearly 3 years, so can read them pretty well now but it was just my first having a longggg run of +opks but then this is my second cycle on clomid 100mg.

As Ducky said, I had 3 true positives in a row. I got no line at all the previous day, then 3 true positives, then on the 4th day I had a line, just not as dark as the control line so my surge was obviously on its way out. I always tested in the afternoon, as FMU can give false positives as OB has said. I ovulated on the middle day of my 3 positives - I get plenty of other ov signs (ewcm, ov pains, and I was temping) so I am sure on ovulation - it just seems that my overall surge is pretty high, so remains over the threshold on it's way up AND down. Yours may be the same?
Have you tried temping to confirm ovulation, rather than just relying on blood tests?

yea I tried temping but couldn't get the hang of it and it got on my t*ts lolol...

I have to say I was a bit crap at remembering... I have so much respect for the ladies who set early o'clock alarms every single day! There is that patch thing you can buy that constantly monitors your temps - I think it's quite expensive but if you're not pregnant within the year you get your money back?
