Hoping to get the opinions of anyone who used acupuncture alongside their fertility treatment please.
Starting ivf/icsi soon. Will be second time, first round was successful and gave us our lovely LO.Last time, I did acupuncture every week and found it very relaxing and calming, particularly before ET when I was a wreck after having only one grade 2/3 embryo and needing a 2 day transfer. Doctor commented ET went perfectly and smoothly and I do attribute a big part of that to how much better my nervous system felt after acupuncture. I then had it afterwards too.Dilemma now is the practitioner I used before has really limited availability and it's proving a nightmare to get appointments booked in around childcare. It means H using a lot of leave as she can't do early or late appointments, weekends or my last suggestion of over lunchtime (so H could work from home while LO naps) as she doesn't want to move her lunch break. She is also 45 minutes away from home and the clinic, so I decided to look elsewhere for someone who could offer treatment that fits in better with us as was already getting a bit stressed about the logistics with this practitioner which seems to defeat the point of going! I've found another who ticks the boxes, seems good BUT only works 2.5 days a week on set days. I asked what happens with ET and she said it was only important to have it near ET, not necessarily right before and after. She said she would try and squeeze me in maybe the evening of ET, but couldn't do before if it wasn't on her self-emp days. Having googled, they do say 'around' but there is a lot of talk about it being right before too. I imagine with our fertility issues we aren't going to get a great response again and will probably be looking at a 2 day transfer if we get that far, so I want to do everything possible to help the ET go smoothly and for my body to be as ready as possible. So should I stick with the first practitioner even though appointments will be at best tricky and at worse, a big stress, or gamble with the new one and prepare to take the risk that if ET falls on her non-working day(s), I'm not going to be able to have a session before, which I feel was of great benefit.WWYD? Thanks.

Lamby lambster! Hello!
I can't be of much help on the acupuncture front, having not tried it due to a distinct lack of practitioners in this region - but how exciting that you're getting on the IVF train again! Wishing you lots and lots of luck again, and I hope you find a solution that's stress-free. If you can't get a session booked for ET, would the meditation CD you had be a worthy substitute? I do believe that how you're feeling mentally can has such an impact on the outcome, and second time around I basically did nothing at all like that to relax but I was in a better place within myself anyway. Fingers crossed everything goes well and you find yourself with a sibling for S! xx

Nice to see you on here again Lamby and sorry you've to go down the IVF/ICSI route again. I'm not on the IVF route myself yet but just wanted to send you lots of good luck vibes. If it was me, I'd probably keep hunting around to find another practitioner who was more available so I could guarantee the pre ET app. Either way, I hope you get it sorted x

ST - Thank you. Eek. I so haven't accepted we are doing it yet - need to get on board really, but am sure that will come once the injections start! I loved the CD last time and did it as well as acupuncture - thanks. I think whatever relaxes you or puts you in a good place is worth a shot isn't it. Hope you are okay x
Tatyo - Thanks and sorry to still see you here (in the nicest possible way) how are you doing? I have managed to find another practitioner at the final hour - am very relieved! He's really local and full time so perfect (hopefully). Feels like a big weight off my mind! x

Oohh that's great news - delighted to hear this!
I'm fine - thanks for asking. We had our tests and H's SA wasn't good with 7mil count (half were moving which is ok I believe) and 3% morphology. We're being referred to our local fertility clinic but I'm not sure what happens next and my docs are being their usual unhelpful selves and not telling me!
