Trying to conceive

Hi I'm new here but could do with some advice.
My husband and I started trying to conceive in August. I finished my pill on 3rd August and started my period on time on 6th. My next period was due Monday 3rd Sept but was a day late. The past 2 days I have been feeling a bit weird. I have had a lighter period than usual and a few aches and pains (not had any since before the pill). I have been achey, tired and very emotional.
Today I decided to take a superdrug brand pregnancy test (even though my period is still around) and it came out as a faint positive.
Does this mean I am pregnant or is it my period messing with my body and mind? I have considered doing another test at the weekend but don't know if this is a waste of time. I haven't told my husband yet as don't want to get his hopes up.
Any help or advice would be great! x

I would do another test....i don't think you would get a false positive on a pregnancy test, but sometimes evaporation lines can appear (I have not experienced this but have read about it a lot) And some people do have some bleeding during pregnancy, and since your period has been lighter than normal it might be that you are pregnant....test again and see what it says....fingers crossed for you and let us know! xx

Thanks. I'm going to wait a few days and test again in a morning to see what it says x

I had a full blown period when I was pregnant with my first so didn't test - when it went awol the next month I tested and the scan then showed we were much further on than we thought (which was great as I thought I was getting too fat too quickly!! lol) so the bleed could be either excess blood being discharged, a false af, or implantation bleeding. Either way if you've got a line, however faint, it is a positive! Evap lines will only appear a couple of hours after you've done the test and are normally grey rather than the blue/pink of the control line. I'd wait another couple of days and test again - the line should be stronger But for now I'm whispering congrats xx

As far as I know you cant have a false positive so I think there is a good chance you are in early pregnancy.
My friend had periods through the 1st 2 months of her pregnancy.
good luck! xx
