Getting Pregnant <
Trying to conceive

As the subject reads I have been actively preventing pregnancy for 13 years, the first 10 years with the pill - the last 3 years with the implant called Implanon. Now that my husband and I are stable in our careers and have a house we are finally free of BC and TTC. It's been exhilarating. I think thus far my libido is definitely starting to return, BC took most of my desire away!! But now I feel a difference immediately. Last month I got my period which was pretty expected and still disappointing. I'm 2 weeks away from my next expected period and I so hope I dont start due to conceiving! One of the main reasons I wanted to join this group is because I've been reading a lot about fertility and how to check cervical mucus to avoid expensive fertility kits. the first 3 days after my period officially ended my CM was much greater/moist/but then and now when I am suppose to be ovulating it has been very thick and tacky like lotion - which I've read is a hostile / nonfertile environment for sperm... Is it possible that I ovulated soon after my period? Either way I know I need to wait this 2weeks out for testing but I can say I dont feel pregnant at all. I think I'm just most confused about my CM. I thought I would be dry after my period and then turning more moist/wet towards ovulation. My sex drive was much higher following my period and right now when I'm suppose to be ovulation I dont have a high sex drive or the CM to back it up..... ugh, so confusing

It depends how long your cycles are as to when you ovulate... You ovulate approx 14 days before the start of your next period so if you have shorter than average cycles then you will ovulate very soon after your period ends. For example if you have a 24 day cycle you would ovulate on cd10 (cd01 being 1st day of your period)... So if your period lasts 6/7 days you will ovulate just a few days after the end of your period.
how long have your cycles been since coming off bc?

26 if I start count the day I actually have a flow worth worrying about. However 1-2 days of very VERY light spotting before that. Should I be counting those very faint spot days?

Yes I think you count from proper flow rather than spotting.... So if its 26 days that means you will ovulate so etime around cd12... Which means your fertile window is roughly cd 6-13.

I forgot to add that my periods the past 2 months have been lasting only 4-5 days.

How long they last doesn't matter.. Just when they start. Good luck!
