Didn't want to r&r but I asked my doctor about this and he was not an advocate to say the least. You may be better talking to your doctor and getting a prescription for clomid or something to help ovulation if you are only have af twice a year. Is there a particular reason you are so irregular?x

I was thinking the same thing about clomid, also with you having periods so irregularly is there a chance you could have PCOS?

I have PCOS (diagnosed a few years ago via an ultrasound of my ovaries) and after TTC for just shy of 2 years I decided to give Agnus Castus a try. I also switched to a low G.I diet and used conceive plus from boots. My normal cycles varied between 32 and 70 (at it's longest) days. The month before taking A.C my cycle was 50 days, then I started A.C half way through a cycle (roughly CD 14/15) and I came on at CD 32 (the shortest it had been for 6 months, then the next month I fell pregnant.
I spoke to my doctor about how to take A.C and she told me (off the record) that she took it when she was trying for her baby but was not allowed to discuss it with patients as it is a herbal remedy and as it is not produced by a pharmaceutical company and therefore hasn't had any tests done on it she's not allowed to offer advice. I did read online that you should only take it up until ovulation. Well I had no idea when I ovulated so I took it up until CD 18 and then stopped taking it (I took the length of my previous cycle and took away 14 as you ovulate roughly 14 days before starting your next period).
I'm convinced that A.C played a big part in me getting pregnant and if we decide to have a second baby then i will definitely use it again.
Good luck hun, sending you lots of babydust.

Hi All, just thought I would let you know my experience with Agnus Castus. After being diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18 I thought my chances of getting pregnant were very slim. I got married in August 2012 aged 24 but have been off the pill since April 2011 trying to get pregnant. Went to the doctors after no pregnancy and ovulation tests always came back negative, and was referred to a fertility clinic with a long waiting list. In the meantime I read up about Agnus Castus and thought I would give it a try. The first month of taking it, my period was exactly 28 days which has hardly ever happened before. I tested on the 14th day of this month and sure enough I was ovulating which is the first time this has ever happened. Im now 5 weeks pregnant! I cant say for sure that it was the Agnus Castus that did it for me but after over a year of trying an no success - the first month I tried it I got pregnant. So I guess the message is keep trying, dont give up hope and drugs are not always the answer! x

I've been ttc for 16months now. I had found my periods had stopped due to raised prolactin and now after treatment it's finally normal again. I finally in December I had some spotting, some in January 30 days later so u thought my periods were finally returning. Then had a massive gap until an heavy actual period April 4th, ended on the 12th. Then yesterday (20th) I've had spotting and this afternoon a sudden gush of blood and it's stopped again. Totally confused what my bodies doing! I wondered if you guys think I would benefit from Agnus castus? Anyone recommend it?
