i have a hen night on saturday, when i will be 7dpo. if i completely abstain it will be obvious what is going on. however, i will be with really close friends so maybe that doesn't matter? it's just that i am such a blabbermouth and would prefer to keep this to myself for once.

do you ladies completely avoid alcohol in the 2ww or do you allow yourself the odd glass? i'd be really interested in your thoughts. i don't want to do anything to damage a baby or my chances of conceiving but it could take months and months to get a BFP, so what to do for the best?

I think you're safe with a couple of glasses. So enjoy yourself, just don't go mad. Remember half the babies born in this country are unplanned and their mums were probably rat-arsed for half of the 2WW!!!

I used to avoid alcohol completely in the 2WW, but this last couple of months I haven't. You don't have a shared blood supply anyway until implantation, so I'd say at 7 DPO it wouldn't hurt the baby even if you are pg, as it's unlikely to have implanted that early. Have fun, enjoy the hen do, just don't go too mad xx

I have one or two drinks as well, if the situation arises where I'm out with family/friends.

If its a hen night everyone will probably be drunk quite quickly and won't be paying attention to what you're drinking so it will be easier for you to drink slowly/ order lemonade & pretend its vodka etc.

    Hi hun,
I drank in my 2ww as I had only just come off the pill so had no idea when I had ovd or when af was due, and on the week i got my BFP I had a few drinks every night as OH was working away all week and I wasnt due to test until Friday. I did feel really really guilty when I got my BFP as I thought about all the booze I had drank but here I am almost 30 weeks gone and touch wood have had no complications or anything whatsoever. Ultimately though I guess its all about personal preference and is completely down to you but it didnt do me any harm.
