Trying to conceive

Hi ladies, I've always enjoyed a glass of wine (or 2) and of course as soon as I got my bfp I stopped completely and did everything to be as healthy as I could be! Unfortunately as some of you know I found out at the 12 week scan the baby only got to 7 weeks and stopped developing I haven't drank much since but it's my birthday next weekend and I've been reading that you shouldn't drink at all while ttc! I just wondered what your thoughts were?xx

Sorry to hear about that it is unlikely that those two glasses had anything to do with your miscarriage. I suppose though for optimum health for you it is better not to drink but I wouldn't say that it would make a massive impact!! Good luck to you x

Hi Carioke, hope you are well hun. I believe everything in moderation. I am not a big drinker really, but dont see the harm in having a couple every now and then. If you don't allow yourself any treats life would be really boring. Its stressful enough ttc without the pressure on not drinking, not eating certain foods, & generally treading on eggshells. Good luck hun x x

Thanks supastar, you're right, It is hard enough and so many people get pg without even trying!! I showed hubby an article about how alcohol affects sperm, I can only let him decide whether he cuts down or not! We went out last night and I drove but then had a glass of wine when we got home! xx

I agree with supastar , life would be very dull if we didn't have a treat every now & then , I drank & was smoking at the beginning of my other pregnancies ( oh for the days when pregnancy crept up on you without temping,ov sticks etc etc) & thankfully they turned out fine- since my youngest : 3 yrs I haven't smoked or touched a drop of alcohol, apart from glass of bubbly on wedding day & yet we have had nothing but problems ever since, and there's my neighbour who is still puffing away at 20 weeks !!! thank you very much ! doesn't seem fair , makes me feel I should be bad again ) I would be interested in the article on how alcohol affects sperm - s.times men think it's only us women who have to make adjustments .
sorry- rant over for the day.. bit fed up today, think af might rear her ugly head at any minute ! but if she does it will be straight back to it when she's gone . x

Rant away!! I also feel life is so unfair sometimes! I work at a pre-school which is hard enough but now all of a sudden loads of mums have announced they are pg, 1 with twins and I'm struggling to feel happy for them!!
hope af stays away for you evemummy24 xx

That must be hard going for you, when you want just 1 more of your own,my afore mentioned neighbour is the most unpleasant lady which makes it dificult, she told me of her pregnancy a week after 2nd mc- nice !
Think my 2ww is over , instead of slowing down pink has increased, to red feel like giving up,- can't think of anything else to try, used to be good at being patient, gets harder as you get older
1 day at a time I guess x
