Trying to conceive

Hi lovely ladies, I came off the pill last sept, my cycles settled straight away and I have a regular 31 day cycle and ov around cd 17.
I really thought I would be pg by now!!!!
The worry is it was my 40th birthday 2 weeks ago and although I still feel 18 in the head I'm wondering if I'm too old now and should give up ttc? I already have an 8 year old boy from a previous relationship and thought it would be lovely to have a child with my hubby!!

I would visit GP - like schoonKo07 said - as you are classed as an older mother, you should be given help from 6 months onwards.I'm sure that as soon as you book the appointment you will fall pregnant!!

As those above say, I would visit your gp. I'm 39 and trying for my first child. Have pcos and am currently waiting to start on Clomid.
Good luck xxx

I worry about being too old too - I'm almost 39 but already have a 5 year old daughter.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for all us 'older' mummies! xx

Thanks so much for the replys; I went to the docs last month and she didn't seem worried or bothered, she just said wait til we've been trying for a year! I might get a second opinion.
