    Hi everyone,
Have noticed that everyone on here seems to know exactly what day they should be ovulating and when exactly they will do a test, but just wondered if there was anyone out there like me who doesn't have a clue. Decided to start trying a bit earlier than my husband and I originally planned so it was quite spontaneous and only just came off the pill a couple of weeks ago. No idea what my cycle is. Is it best to do the temperature thing and work out the dates of my cycle or just 'go with the flow' (no pun intended!) for the first few months? Did all you guys start charting as soon as you started ttc?

I don't really have a clue! I just pop the dates I've had af into MyCycle (www.mycycle.com) and it tells me when the next one will be and roughly when you'll ovulate. Only been using it a couple of weeks so no idea whether it's accurate or not... I'm not using ovulation sticks for now but we'll see....

i thought i had a fair idea but cycles seem to have started playing up just as i've started ttc grrr!!
just to warn you though, it might be difficult to track your cycle in your first month since coming off the pill as it might need to settle down. on the other hand you might go back to being perfectly normal straight away!
good luck, lots of babydust xx

I use www.mymonthlycycles.com, and found out via that that my cycle averages around 25/26 days, I had assumed it was the 'normal'28 days. On that site you can chart your af's and it predicts when your next one will be, and you can chart your probable ov dates too. It gives you an idea of when to look for the signs (such as temp if you do that or ewcm. etc). There is a fun bit too so you can predict your babies date of birth based on 'if I conceived on this date' kind of thing or first day of last af etc. Fun to play with! But as mrs_e said, you might not go back to regular cycle straight away xx

hey hun. i would just go with the flo:lol:
if you've only just started ttc then you don't need to be stressed out waiting to poa ov s. just see what happens for a couple of months.
I came of the pill christmas day and had a tiny af a couple of weeks ago. we're just going to see if happens. though you do get totallty obssessed with symptom spotting both for oving, af and that ever elusive bfp.
    good luck hun.x

I'd also go with the flow so that it's fun and relaxed for as long as possible. That was my plan - but unfortunately I became a bit obsessed sooner than I'd hoped so have recently started peeing on ov sticks.

In a way seeing a +ive makes you feel optimistic and pro-active, but on the flip side of the coin sex seems a bit clinical. My hubby said "I take it you got two lines on your stick today" when I jumped him earlier this week - which upset me, as actually I just wanted to have sex, and wasn't ov'ing.

Good luck! Fingers crossed you stay relaxed about it all.

Thanks everyone. Think I will leave the ov sticks etc. for now but probably will be all impatient in a few weeks and change my mind! x
