    Hi all,

I am feeling soooo sad today and low... Have just found out tht one of my friends is pregnant she has been with her bf 12yrs so its good very good but when she text i started to cry at work...

Also my Bfs friends who hate easchother n been 2getha 6mths are expecting.. whats going on..

I am just worried about not being able to concive Im going to see my GYN feb..
My other problem is Huntingtons chorea runs in my family its like alziemers, parkinson, MS all in one its the worse disease in Britain there is no cure yet and can come at any age..

It has a 50/50 chance of being passed on to children...
You can have a test whne your pregnant to see if the gene has been passed on...some people say you souldnt try to have baby with H.D in ur family but dont I deserve some happiness too and a normal life?

    What would use do?

I know what you mean about getting depressed when people are expecting. It makes me depressed when i see complete strangers who are expecting!!

Cystic fibrosis runs in my family and me and oh had to be tested to see if we carry the gene that causes cf. Do you definately carry it? Sorry if that seems dumb but i dont know much about hd. With cf both parents must be carriers to have a child with cf. I am a carrier but luckily oh isnt. We had already discussed that if we were both carriers we would have an amnioscentesis (sp?) and terminate the pregnancy if the baby had cf. I know that isnt for everyone but we didnt want to bring a child into the world that may not have a good quality of life. Its a very personal choice and i respect people who have children with cf for all the hard work they do. Have you decided what you would do if the baby had hd? Would you have the test during pregnancy?

    Hi Mk,

thanks for ur reply. Yes I have the gene so does my
Mum (46yrs) in a care home mid stages of HD
Aunt is (44yrs ) n has gene but no signs yet.
Grandad died in his 70;s with Hd later on in life
My uncle (mums bro) dont have it.
And nor does my 23yr od bro which is brill for my perfect little neice...

I think it runs thro women more. Sorry to her of you having Cf its hard theres enough thins to worry about with pregnancy without this.
I too would have a test whilst 10wks pregnant for HD gene if they getit later in life then would have the baby but if they have Jr HD would terminate know that sounds harsh n would be after all that ttc but i couldn do that to the little guys....

I am also finding it hard cause my Bf already has 6yr old twin botn gal so feel hurt about that somexs not them love them. But its hard

    Good luck...
