    Hi,

I have had a few weeks break from BE since having my second MC in january. Hubby and I also MC twins in Oct which was devastating enough. It's been a difficult time for us, but I feel we are ready to move on.

What I would like to know is...Is there more chance of conceiving if you bd every day or is it better to allow the little swimmers to mature and bd every two days??? I have read info that argues both points e.g. every day (during fertile time) means you don't miss your window but that every other day means that your cm is in a better condition to help the sperm. Please can you pass on your pearls of wisdom as we're keen to get some good news next month. I'm leaning towards the every day option!!!

There are lots of new names on here, so if I haven't chatted to you yet...hi!

Wishing you all the best. Let's hope we get some sticky babydust soon girls,

    Love Em xxx

    Hi em1978

Im sorry to hear about your mc's its a devestating thing to go thru.

My oh had a sperm test done about 4weeks ago and was advised to bd every cpl of days not everyday as his little swimmers rapidly decrease so they need time to build up. If you bd every cpl of days there is more than likely keeps you topped up and there is always some inside you for when you ov (sorry didnt know what other way to explain it).

Hope this helps and i hope you get a bfp soon.

Really sorry to hear of your tragic losses hun. You must be such a strong person. x

With regards to your question. This is a real poser! Have seen some sites which say every other day is best as it makes sure the swimmers are in tip-top condition. On the other hand, the male body is supposedly so good at sperm-production, that I personally dont see any reason why you shouldnt go for it every day! After all, sperm are meant to be able to survive in our bodies for a couple of days, so there should still be some lurking there even it the next days 'delivery' contains slightly less! (Thats my theory anyway!) Good luck and have fun! xx

    Hi,
Sorry to here about your mc i also had a mc (17th Jan) and we have just started to ttc again.
When we were trying for our first it seemed to be taking forever so as soon as my af was over we bd every other day and got BFP and did the same when we started ttc no 2, got BFP first month but sadly had a mc. i have read that the little swimmers can live for up to 3 days, so every other day should be enough to make sure they are there when you ov.
    GOOD LUCK x

Thanks for your replies ladies. All the answers make sense, so it's really hard to know what to do. I think i just have to relax about it more as I'm getting a bit too obsessed by it all. If we miss a night of bding, then I'll not worry about it...like you say, there should still be some little swimmers lurking around somewhere (sorry if tmi!)

Emzyv - I really do know how you feel. It's taken a long time for me to get here. Have only returned to work this week, which feels really strange and tiring. The pain has eased a little although I still think of what I could be carrying now. The pregnancy in Jan was a good indication for me that we were able to move on, not that we will ever forget the twins, and even though our 2nd PG didn't work out either, I feel like looking to the future is what I have to do. I've cried so much and have felt the lowest I have ever felt that the only way has to be up when you hit so low.

I'm also desperate to be PG again too. But I've realised that a positive mind counts for a lot so that's the approach I'm taking. (If you ask me tomorrow I may give you a completely different blubbering answer!)

I wish us both lots of luck in trying to conceive and wish all the rest of the girls here to lots of babydust also.

Let's hope the baby fairies come by our way soon.

    Thinking of you all,
    Em xxxx

Hiya Em, I just wanted to say I'm very sorry about your losses. I've never experienced a mc myself (we're ttc #1) so I can only imagine the heartbreak you've been through.

We bd every other day as dh would have a few problems getting his little swimmers out (if you know what i mean), if we bd every day. I was reading on a site somewhere that sperm can last up to 72 hours in fertile cm so every other day should be enough.

Good luck and lots of sticky babydust to you xxx

    Em,

So sorry to hear of your loss.

When we awere ttc our 2nd our Dr advised bding every 3rd day coz she said by having a 2 day break it meant the sperm were better quality than if you bd more frequently & each time you were basically keeping your body topped up with sperm so there would always be sperm present for when you ov. I dont know whether this is the best advise or not though coz there seems to be soo much conflicting advise out there but using this method we got a +ve in the 2nd month of trying

This time we started out following the SEP but as Iwasnt using ov sticks we just bd everyother day but to be honest it can be a bit tiring after a while so if I dont get a BFP this month I think we'll go back to the every 3rd day again for a month or 2

All the best in getting your BFP soon

    Take care
