Trying to conceive

I am really good thanks.....feeling very positive this month and trying to just relax about it all....so far I feel relaxed but I'm guessing I will be less relaxed when it gets to the 2ww...we shall see!
Judy - the part about pulling the pad apart made me laugh out loud!!! You are so funny! Congratulations on passing your exam! Nice to see you are feeling more positive today I didn't realise me and my partner were of similar ages to you and your partner.
Hello LoopyLisa, Supastar (happy bday to your DD), evemum, gingerpoodle, andi30 and charley
WooH - I am with you on the animal abuse I absolutely detest anything like that....the poor animals are defenceless and they all deserve a nice loving home. I too have a gorgeous boy who is 4 called Fudge (Yorkie Terrier). He means everything to me!
Lovely to read all your stories and understand where you are all at
30/08/2013 at 14:27
Amy - I am very confused also. I cannot say on ff that I have light bleeding because it switches me onto a new cycle - booo. I will see what happens tomorrow, if temps drop then I'm deffo out and that will mean that I will be on CD3 tomorrow I love the ginger hair hun and my partner loves it too My natural hair colour is light brown, but I used to dye it red with black lowlights. I changed to ginger now and love it - used 3 bottles of bleech to get the red out ha ha I looked like Garfield when I first dyed it ha ha ha
Angela - ha ha I know, why would anyone want to do that? I told my partner and he was like - what? ha ha I didn't realise that we were similar ages Have you started the ovulation testing yet?
I loved reading all your stories ladies
Thank you for the congrats re exam, I feel so happy - one more to go to Diploma I've heard back from one of the recruiters and they invited me for a second interview next week - exciting. My head is soooo confused - my boss said to me yesterday that he would be buggered without me so I'm feeling mega guilty now!
30/08/2013 at 14:37
Judy dont feel guilty! I know its hard but remember, you come first and cant let your guilt hold you back. I feel guilty now too, because now im pregnant I will have to change duties at work. I work in a kitchen which is obviously very hot, lots of machinery and greasy floors - not the best place for a pregnant woman! Also when 15w pg with dd I fainted because of the heat, so Im going to have to speak to the new (bitch) personnel manager and ask her to move me to admin on something. Im sure im within my rights to ask for different duties while pg? Sooo chuffed for you about tthe second interview! I know you'll do brilliantly about your chart; id pputin the light bleeding, even though it may not be af and will start you on a new cycle its best to record what your body's doing so you can use it for reference in the future. Also if this does turn out to be implantation and you get a bfp later in the month, you can show your charts to the doc when questions about dates are raised xxx
Ang - so glad you're feeling relaxed! I hope it all stays smooth for you. 2ww was a killer for me as at the start of week 2 I realised I ovd a week later so had to start again lol. Still trying to quit smoking too! Even more motivated now I've got a bean. xx

Im 36 and have just started ttc. I had 6 large fibroids removed early this year and now im ready to give this a go...gulp! I currently have high estrogen and prolactin levels which i have heard can cause problems conceiving but to help level them out ive started taking pregnacare conception and change my diet...no more coffee..waaaaaahhhhh!
This will be my first month of trying and my AF (im learning all the lingo lol) is due next week Wed. Scared pants!!!
I hope I dont drive you all mad with all the questions im about to throw out there. XX

Thanks hun, I am never selfish and always put others first but this time I thought I needed to be selfish. The more money I can earn now the more I can save for maternity cos SMP wouldn't cover all of my bills and my partner earns less than me - he is happy thou and that is important
You should not have to feel guilty either! They should expect that a young lady will want to extend her family at one point and should not make you feel guilty about it. You are well within your rights to have as many babies as you can They are not allowed to discriminate against you, make you redundant or sack you. They have to give you time off work (paid) for all antenatal and mw appointments and they should ensure that the work enviroment is suitable for you. So if this means that you will have to move into admin, so be it! You are well within your rights to ask for different duties. I've read a lot about stuff like this cos when I needed time off for appointments I worried that work won't let me have time off.
I will change FF when I get home from work, it will mean CD2 for me today.

Hi LVM and welcome
Ask away hun, we will be happy to help! Mine was due next wed, but arrived yesterday - booooo (7 days early).
30/08/2013 at 15:45
Judy (I call you this because of your screen name...is Judy actually your name haha) - Wow well done on getting the second interview! I agree with Amy, don't feel guilty, you to what feels right for you. If you will be happier in a new job then go for it. Yes i start ov testing yesterday and obviously both were negative, which I expected...just hoping I see a positive one at some point during this cycle . Oh the whole maternity pay scares the crap out of me as I just don't know how we will manage as it will mean we will be down about £600 a month and that's our mortgage and a bill so I have got myself a baby fund jar which I put money in to from doing peoples nails (which I do for family as I'm qualified) and I have also started transferring a bit of money each month into a savings account to try and mount some up. Although I say to my mum if I waited until we could afford a baby, we would never have one haha.
Amy - I hope you manage to stop the smoking and as you say you have a VERY good reason to spur you on even more
Welcome LVM....when I joined I had to google most of the abbreviations as I didn't have a clue haha but if you want to know any then please just ask and we will all help you out. I haven't been on here very long and all the ladies are lovely and very welcoming. I wouldn't know what I would do now without coming on here daily and checking in with everybody The whole ttc journey is very scared but also exciting and stressful haha...you will go through all the emotions possible but will be well worth it when we all get our BFP's.
30/08/2013 at 15:57
Awww thanks for the warm welcome ladies...feeling emotional already LOL
Implantation bleed? I have never heard of that before. Im assuming its a little blood once youve conceived? I suppose its kinda obvious from the name (hands over face)
Angela - yes, i have started googling them but some of them dont come up. Whats FF?
Also, im thinking DH means darling husband???
So im on CD23 so 5 more days before AF (im getting the hang of the lingo hee hee). Is to early to test? I do have some little pains and have been absolutely knackered the past week but that could just be pre AF syptoms.
30/08/2013 at 15:58
Sorry to hear that Sweetjudy21. Fingers crossed for next time xx
30/08/2013 at 16:05
Yes it is Judy and thank you. I will have the second interview next week - this one might be harder cos I have to draft up a technical investment recommendation - need to do the research and all the work this weekend! I am putting money into savings every month and am planning to live off it when I go on maternity I paid off a couple of loans this year just to make it easier, but it does not seem to be any easier at the moment? I am sure that we will all manage Are you testing twice a day? I am not sure whether to test this cycle cos I'm getting stressed out . . . need to think about it
Doing peoples nails sounds good and I bet it gets busier towards christmas and the party period
I used to do mystery shopping for some extra cash, but there are no good assignments anymore so I cannot be bothered
30/08/2013 at 16:07
FF is Fertility Friend - a website we use for charting and tracking our cycles.
I've never had implantation bleed and didn't believe in it, but this time I was clinging onto some hope again ha ha as I find it unusual for AF to come 7 days early.
30/08/2013 at 16:16
Thanks Sweetjudy21. I will check FF out.
Yes, its very odd that it came so early. Is it light?
30/08/2013 at 16:35
It is light-ish (basically, I could easily get away with wearing one pad a day without having to change it). I thought it was slowing down this morning, but it is not so I'm pretty sure it is AF.
Out this month, but there is always next month
Ladies, do you pay for FF VIP membership? I had a 30 day free trial and it is asking me to pay now and I'm not sure what to do.
30/08/2013 at 16:39
Hi ladies, I have been on here a little while but havent posted for a while as I get so disheartened evey month, it's coming up to 5 years of TTC now
I have got my hopes up this month as "Suzy" said I would conceive in August but as I am awaiting the removal of a fibroid I am not so sure.
AF I'd due between the 3rd and 5th of September so not that much longer to
30/08/2013 at 16:40
welcome to all our new ladies and hey to the regular girlies
I'm 31, dh is 33. We have been ttc #1 since January 2012, when I came off the pill. So far absolutely nothing has happened, and we are beginning to go through testing to see what the hell is going on. I work with children in care and am about to start a masters degree via distance learning as well - nothing like doing everything at once!! I'm on cd 7 today, and AF has finally buggered off after giving me the lady pains from hell over the weekend. There seems to be a few of us at similar stages this month which is cool
30/08/2013 at 17:23
sorry I hadnt finished the post and my keyboard went funny.
i am 38 and dh is 39
30/08/2013 at 17:56
Wow I've only been away a few hours and missed loads already! Feel exhausted today, slept for an hour at around 2 and still feel tired -.- LVM and Lottie, welcome to the thread, I hope this is a lucky one for you xx
Judy - I know I shouldn't feel guilty but its easier said than done, as you know lol. Just dreading going into work and having her tell me they wont move me, then I'll be constantly panicking about something bad happening as for SMP, We worked out that we'll be no worse off because I only work 20 hours a week anyway. We struggle with money but as Ang said, if we waited until we could afford it it would never happen, and we always manage, even if it means going without nice treats for ourselves. so bloody angry with that AF!! tell her to do one haha. Xx
LVM - I had an implantation bleed at 9dpo it was just like brown discharge, and backache all day on the right side too.
Lottie - wow thats a long old journey hun, sorry its taking so long it must be hard to keep your chin up. I hope this is your month as suzy predicted xx
Octarine - yaaaay for end of AF! Octarine's back in the game go whip those swimmers into shape hun, its about time your eggo got preggo! Xx
30/08/2013 at 19:37
Wow can't believe how many posts happen on here...you don't come on for a few hours and there is loads to catch up on
At the minute Judy I have only tested once a day as I believe it's too early for ovulation anyway but once I get to CD14 onwards then I think I will test twice a day. I am currently testing at 12.30 so I think in a few days I shall still do one at 12.30 and then maybe one about 5-6ish. Did you used to test twice or just once a day? I have 50 tests but my last cycle was that long that if I did twice a day I would have enough for the full cycle haha. I know I keep thinking shall I just not test and see what happens by just dtd often but then I just want to make sure I am ovulating with so many people saying they don't. I think once I find out if I have this month then I probs won't test anymore and just try the relaxed approach, probably won't last long though ha. I only charge £10 for the gel varnish with it being family but it all comes in handy!
Also Judy someone mentioned ovufriend.com on another thread that is free and I have had a look and it looks good so you could maybe switch over to that rather than pay for FF?!?
30/08/2013 at 20:29
Amy - I found this for you
Once your employer knows you are pregnant:
• Your employer must conduct a risk assessment and remove risks or make alternative arrangements to protect your safety, and your baby’s safety, when you are at work. • You are entitled to reasonable paid time off to attend ante-natal appointments and classes which are advised by your midwife or medical practitioner. Your employer can ask for evidence of your appointments from the second appointment onwards.• You are protected from unfair treatment, including dismissal or selection for redundancy for reasons connected with your pregnancy. This would also be discrimination.
Angela - I used to test in the afternoon (5-6pm) because I used the CB digitals and it would have been to expensive to test twice. I have got some cheepies also and would test twice a day with them Did it twice this month when I realised that the new CB digital was faulty £10 is more than nothing and always comes handy - good for you for having a little job on the side - every little helps (hope Tesco's won't sue me for using this ha ha).
I will have a look at OvuFriend now
A quick update from me - bleeding stopped completely and there is only some gross dark brown discharge when I wipe. This is mega confusing. I'm going to research the effects of Maca cos I have been taking it this month and it might have had an affect on my cycle? God knows! I did a test and BFN so assume that was AF . . .
30/08/2013 at 20:57
hi girls well i think i ovulated on tuesday but cant tell whats goin happen yet as i only been off pill 2 months and had one period which was 7th aug so i havnt given my cycles long enough to know weather they are regular or not!!! sooooo confusing .... the only way i have gone off weather im ovulating this month was by checking my CM which on tuesday was very clear "like water" so after reading that this could be a sign me and my partner BD that night , i have done the FF chart to the best of my current knowledge and it says i gotta wait till 15th of sep for HPT!! ohh well just sit back and wait, can anyone tell me how long after it is that you get the implantation bleed?? im obsessed with it all at the minute , went to asda today everyone in there seemed to be pregnant lol ..... is anyone else waiting to test around the same time or sooner? wishing you all lots of luck thank you to all those greeting me and making me feel very welcome and able to talk on here with others going through the same x x x
