hi i am just wondering if it is safe to take clomid without doctors consent. i have had blood test done at doctors tested for lh and fsh said i was ok. each month around cd13/213 i get a positive ovulation test but so far i have not concieved in 6 months. just because i get a lh surge it does not mean that i release ann egg does it?????????? i am thinjking of buying clomid now to produce extra eggs coz i would not mind having btwins im 37 and trying to get my first is hard enough so having 2 at once is a plus but if it helps me get 1 thats cool. does anyone know the risks is it safe

I wouldnt advise buying clomid off the net. I dont know much about it, but Im sure you would need to be closely monitored while taking it, and also you would need to have the correct dosage prescribed for your particular circumstances. you might end up doing more harm than good if you just bought some and guessed how much to take.

I appreciate that you are feeling like time is short, but I reall dont think this is the way to go about it hun. Did you tell your gp how long you had been trying? The average time to conceive for healthy couples is around 12mths, but I think if you are over 35 they will investigate after about 6mths. So really you fall into that category.

try not to worry and stress hun, as that doesnt help things either (i know I know, easier said than done!)

Take care, and hope you get your bfp soon xxx

oooh please take in all the other ladies have said and don't do it!! Frustration and impatience are definitely understandable in your situation (and indeed all of ours on here) and I understand why you'd be contemplating doing this but really it's not safe!

Hi lisoloo. I have seriously considered buying clomid off the internet too.
I am not oving and had a disastrous appt with gynae the other week who refused to help until it's been 6 months.
I have another appt for a second opinion on 22nd sept but am fairly sure they are going to just send us away as well.
Basically if I 100% knew it was clomid I was buying I would def do it but I am too scared to get it off the web in case it isn't really clomid.

You should go to your gp though and they can do day 21 blood test to see if you are actually oving. You never know, you might have more luck than me and get helped sooner. It's worth a try.

    Good luck xxx
