Ladies, would you kindly take a look at my friends temping chart, she emailed me with it this morning, I don't have any experience of charting but I suggested posting it on here for you guys to have a look at. She's on her first cycle of Clomid and her period is due tomorrow, her cycles are 28 days. TIA.

I'm by no means an expert, it does look like she did ovulate on cd13 but she doesn't have many pre ov temps, and there are a few open circles around the key time do you know why that is? There's a definite temperature shift though and she is still above her coverline which is good. Everyone is different pre AF though, I know mine is coming because my temp goes down in the days before some peoples don't dip until AF is actually here. She's got nice high temperatures though, I remember someone saying ideally your temp should stay above 36.40 for a pregnancy but I'm not sure how true that is. Good luck to her from me! Please let us know how she gets on.

thats a really good chart, im not quite sure why they have dotted the cross hairs, as ovulation seems fairly obvious and i cant see any advice other than the empty circle on cd14, so maybe the temp was taken at a different time to normal, but the fact that the temps are still above the cross hairs is fabulous. really positive chart.!

Thanks for your comments guys, I'm not sure why she has empty circles I'll ask her, I so hope that this is all going in the right direction.

I'm by no means an expert and only on my second month of charting however, that does like a really good positive chart. I thought the empty circles were because the time taken was different to the default or the previous temps and I thought the dotted line was due to time differences and no CM observed - I could be wrong though.
Dolly - my temps are permanently above 36.4 so I don't think that holds true for me. My body is weird though so don't mind me!

Maybe they just put dotted lines because she hasnt put temps from day 1? It's a pretty fabulous ovulation dip to get dotted lines really!!
20/03/2014 at 11:18
Isnt it because shes not entered any OPKs or CM my lines are never solid because I only temp.
20/03/2014 at 11:42
I would suspect it is dotted because the 1dpo is not accurate. If an accurate reading on that date was, for instance, 36.20 might that not push ovulation out a day? I never ovulate the day of the dip but about 2-3 days later.

Oh I didn't know that CC, I think I've always used opks or noticed something re CM but didn't realise it would make much difference to the chart

Thanks for all of you comments girls, she thinks that she did temp a bit later than normal on day 14? She also had a bit of spotting yesterday, and now nothing today???

DollyP I think so even my cycle with Jack I never got a proper line always dotted and that didnt change when i in putted + tets.

I had one cycle with solid lines even though I only temped and didn't do opk's etc. Not really sure what makes it decide dotty/solid lines.
It looks like a lovely chart though and I wish your friend all the best luck x

The dotted line is because the temps haven't been checked at the same time (white circles), temp has risen but ff can't be sure of iv but given the significant rise that's why it's only put a dotted line. Chart looks promising, post ovulation temps should be over 37.4 to sustain a pregnancy so its looking good so far. Good luck to her

Hey ladies, just thought I'd update you on the latest, her temps stayed the same today but AF is due tomorrow and not today, does this mean anything?
21/03/2014 at 09:26
I don't think you can read anything into that yet. It is good that her temps are still high and if it was my and my AF was due tomorrow and my temp was high I'd be going into symptom spotting overdrive, but my temp always drops the day before AF. I know for some people their temp doesn't drop til AF is actually here.
It does all sound good though, when will she test? Wishing her lots of luck.

I think her chances are better as her temp has stayed high but, as dolly has already said, it may not drop until the day AF turns up. In my case, my temps stayed quite high until CD2 of the next cycle. It does look very positive tho so I have my fingers crossed for her.

My temp doesn't drop til about CD3, any update?

Hi girls, well my friend has had a nightmare weekend really, her temps stayed the same Friday and Saturday, she did a test Sunday morning which was negative, then her temp dipped yesterday morning so she was sure she was going to come on, but then it peaked this morning so she did another test and this is the result. So happy for her.I know it's the faintest of lines but a line is a line, she's going to test with a digital tomorrow Xx

Fantastic news Claire - delighted for her xx

Congratulations to your friend, I wouldn't say that was faint, my first one this time was a squint, stand on one leg and tilt the stick type test that ones quite clear!!
