Trying to conceive

My current depo jab is due to finish on the 14th of this month and then we will be starting the ttc journey for the 3rd time. With my first I used fertility friend for charting and have downloaded the app, is this still what you all use for charting? It was over 5 years ago and I just need a reminder about what happens with temps at certain times, is it a dip or a rise for ovulation? What else am I looking for in terms of signs of ovulation etc? I'm going to need to chart straight away as for the last 6 mths being on the jab I haven't had a cycle so will have no idea where I am.

I would say 99% of the ladies temping on the forum us Fertility Friend app. Log your temp at the same time every day and it will let you know when it's had a big enough and sustained shift in temperature to signify that ovulation has happened. Generally speaking it's when you get three temp rises in a row.
Some people get a little dip in temp the day they ovulate but not everyone x

Thank you, so will I get any signs that ovulation is going to happen? Or will it just show on my temps with a rise when it has. Not sure why I can't remember any of this stuff xx

Temping confirms that ovulation has happened. Other things (opk's, cm or cervix position) can indicate that it is going to happen.

What veecee said. Temping can only tell you that you've ovulated after the event. If you want to know before it happens/as it happens then you'd need to do opk's but they don't work for everyone. You can also track cervical mucus and cervix positioning but they will only really be of help to you after you've tracked them for a few cycles and can see a pattern.
