Hi ladies. I've just been prescribed clomid after ttc for 18 months. But I'm a bit confused the consultant told me to take them days 2-6 starting next month even though I'm due on. He didn't really give a reason why I can't take it this month just said there wasn't time. I'm just wondering if this is because they'll be closed over Christmas so won't be able to monitor me properly. They're only going to monitor month 1 then leave me too it so.... what difference would it make if I just start this month anyway? Hubby wants me to wait and do what the doctor said but I really want to get started any advice great fully received

Sorry i cant be any help on this but i just wanted to ask what happened at the drs before you got prescribed this? Ive been trying for the same amount of time and have a gyno/fertility drs appointment in feb that me and the other half both have to attend, was wondering if thats when id be offered something to try and help. Am currently going through the blood test stage to check my ovulating.. i think you should wait until the month you dr told you to start, that way they wont be arsy or anything.. x

Hey good luck ttc there's been a few things really. I had a lot of unexplained bleeding and too frequent periods after a suspected mc in April. Had some tests and scans and was referred to a gyne who diagnosed pcos. She referred me straight to the fertility clinic as often takes longer to conceive with pcos.

Had to have scans etc again and hubby had to have a sperm analysis when we were referred. This consultant doesn't think I have pcos and said everything looks fine with me and hubby so prescribed clomid straight away.

I haven't had ovulation blood tests because my periods were so messed up, they're only just starting to regulate ; that being said I'm on day 34 at the moment so maybe they're not!!

He said next step would be a laperoscapi? To see if my tubes are blocked if the clomid doesn't work so fingers and toes crossed that it does.

A friend has been ttc for well over 2 years and is only on her 1st cycle of clomid and she's had all sorts done first. I think it just depends on your consultant.

Wishing you all the luck in the world xxx
