Getting Pregnant <
Trying to conceive

I came off the pill in July this year (finished packet mid July) and since have been trying for our first baby. When I cam off the pill a couple of weeks later I got what I can only imagine was a withdrawal bleed. Since then I've not had a period. Only twice have I had a light brown liquid and at very random times.
Last month I brought a clear blue ovulation test and it seemed to work, I got a high fertility and a peak fertility but I've read that you don't ovulate until you have your first period as it's the ovulation, that takes a while to kick in.
I waited the 2 weeks after ovulation and now I'm approaching 3. I've had period like pains for 8 days and no period and low and behold a negative test..
Feeling quite deflated about it all now.. Would be great to know if other women have or are going through the same..?

Although I am not currently experiencing what you're going through I have also my self just came off of the Logynon pill that I was on for 5 years.
I came off it in July also and had my withdrawal bleed at the end of July. In August I had no period at all. September & october I've had 2 normal periods which were sore and heavy. However, in Nov I actually missed a period completely. Now I have brown & dark spotting that is only there when I wipe (tmi sorry) and it has lasted for a week. I also have had negative results however I am not trying for a baby atm.
Before this spotting I have had period like pains last week & I really thought my period was coming but it never did. I haven't experienced ovulation pain but I'm not sure with ovulation if you would get cramps like the ones I had & also the amount of spotting...?
I'm not sure If I'm pregnant or not lovely but I feel 99% sure I am not & that it is something to do with my periods being irregular since stopping the pill.
The doctors recommend you have 3 normal periods before TTC as it makes it easier to tell if your pregnant and also increases your chances of conceiving but watch out for any symptoms & also implantation bleeding. If you are pregnant it could be so early that HCG isn't high enough in your blood yet OR that the egg is still implanting and your not producing HCG yet so I'd give it a couple of weeks & test again... If not speak to your doctor about your concerns my lovely.
I'm here if you need me & want to get any other concerns off your chest xxx
Hope this helped a little
Happy M xxxx

Thanks for the message back. Was beginning to feel like the only one seeing lots of people read my thread but not reply.
Do you think I still ovulated then? Or maybe the test just picked it up because my body is producing the hormones but not actually releasing an egg.
I'm sure if I was pregnant I would of had a faint line. So many people seem to get a positive so soon. I'm on day 18 after ovulation (if i did actually ovulate)..
I would keep an eye on yourself though as they do say that spotting along with cramping, could be implantation taking place.
It's weird, we spent most our time being annoyed at having periods but right now, I've never wanted one so bad haha
Thanks so much for replying!

Its not a problem at all :') & thank you very much for your feed back also. I will definitely keep an eye on my spotting. As much as it would be lovely to be pregnant right now, I really do feel its more period related. But here's hoping! Haha, I know exactly what you mean though... I miss my monthly period & whining about the pain!
I'm not in the least bit professional lovely but from doing research on the web I would say that there is a small chance you ovulated. Most women start to ovulate straight away when stopping the pill! When you stop taking the synthetic hormones from the pill those fake hormones are usually out of your system within a day. When those fake hormones are gone your body obviously needs to start producing its own hormones all on its own again which means its okay to feel an absolute mess at this point lol. Your own hormones will start to kick in and your body will start to produce its own follicles again in order to produce an egg. Everyone is different some take a couple of weeks to ovulate and some can take months. But it is possible to start ovulating within the week you came off the pill but I'm not physic so I can't tell you if you did ovulate or not hehe just that its highly possible that you did and your ovulation test backs that up! There are ways of manually watching when you ovulate – some are quite gross – for instance checking your discharge is a sign of when you are ovulating, your body temperature & last but not least checking how high or low your cervix is.
The main thing to note is that not everyone gets a positive so early in pregnancy and more often than not some women are around 15 weeks before they even get their positive – I know someone who was 5 months into pregnancy and still got a negative. Its highly rare but it can happen!
Also because your just off the pill, your hormones WILL be going crazy so your body might not start producing HCG right away and it may take you a while longer. I'd test every Sunday morning with your first urine of the day and midstream urine for the most accurate results.
From what I've seen on the web... What usually happens is once the egg is fertilised it travels down the fallopian tubes and this can take up to a week at most JUST to get to your uterus. Once at your uterus it can take anywhere from 3 days to at a stretch a week to firstly attached its self to the uterus and then further 'dig deeper' into your uterus and implant. This is when implantation bleeding occurs as it can disrupt your lining and cause bleeding but implantation bleeding is always very dark in colour or discharge as its always OLD blood. Women can have implantation bleeding for up to 2 months which is rare but it can happen.
I'm sure you ovulate first & then have your period
Spotting coming off the pill is normal
Your period like pains could be ovulation pain from the follicle rupturing to release an egg ( it could be also what I experienced ) it could also be implantation bleeding or some women get these pains just before they're about to get their period
I'm sure it can take 18 days after ovulation before the egg has actually properly implanted and also wee fun fact I just learnt! You only produce HCG once the egg is properly implanted and the placenta is formed and your kidneys 'produce' HCG & that's truly when the baby relies off mummy for nutrients :)
So a bit of a long winded reply here lol but I hope it helps a little? I can't tell you all the answers & welcome to the group of women who are in the same boat. I call it LIMBO haha you just have to be patient and test every now & then. De

Don't take everything I say for absolute gospel hehe I'm just like you really! :)
You know your body better than anyone so watch all your symptoms. Implantation Bleeding is normally the 1st sign of pregnancy. Not every gets morning sickness but nausea is usually the 2nd.
Some women can get bloated, flatulence, extreme sleepiness, headaches ... But its so annoying as these are the symptoms of your period coming too
Dont test every day but test at the weekends - save your money. I've spent over £30 on pregnancy tests and it was a waste of time lol xxx Dont test every day lol I coulda bought a new pair of shoes !

Thanks for all the info. I learnt early on not to spend to much on those tests! And I also started buying ones of amazon that had a good rating and we're cheap- clear blue can be quite expensive...
I'm definitely not pregnant as I've woken up this morning to find I'm on my period! Unexpected but I'm not complaining.. Just glad my body is doing all the stuff it should 😃....

Im happy you got your answer either way lovely :)
My spotting has stopped I think... It was next to nothing yesterday but me and my partner have had sex twice since last night and I always bleed a little after sex... So I think that it why I am experiencing pink/red spots of blood atm... :)
I think what I had was ovulation spotting and cramps... It is identical to implantation bleeding :) So I'm happy in knowing Im not pregnant. But If it was that I had sex in my fertile window so who knows!? maybe a christmas surprise for me and my man hehe xxx

Awww hopefully hun! That would be the best Christmas presents ever 😃
I'm just glad that my body is back to normal. I'm in full swing with horrible cramps and a very heavy period (like I had before I went on the pill) but I'm not complaining because these are all good signs that I'm back to normal.
I'm looking forward to getting back to the fun bit 😉

Hello. I came off the pill in June. I got my first period in August which lasted for about 5 days. We have have trying to get pregnant, just this week if noticed brown coloured discharge, what is this a sign off, my next period, implantation
I've had pain like symptoms but nothing major, and mood swings. Felt sick now and again, but not all the time. I took a test the other night, but it was negative. I'm so confused.
