Trying to conceive

Welcome to Determined to Conceive (DTC). A place for those of us who are undergoing fertility treatment or waiting to start. Hopefully this will become a sticky and we can pop here whenever. No pressure for personals or keeping up with weekly threads, just catch up as and when it suits.
I have everything crossed for some well-deserved DTC BFPs this year!

AFM I have my IVF seminar date of 24th June with my consultation date to follow sometime in July. Things are finally happening :-)
28/05/2013 at 11:24
Yay for having a date Ducky! Did you decide to transfer to Cambridge or is this still with your local one?
28/05/2013 at 11:36
The seminar is still with the local one, there should be some overlap with staff as it is all controlled by the Cambridge Bourn Hall clinic so it should be very similar. I have a list of questions to ask, and once I have the answers to those, will go with my gut instinct.

That's great that you have a date for the seminar now Ducky-I can imagine that the list of questions will get longer and longer!
I've had spotting since coming off the norethisterone over a week ago, but it's stopped completely and I can feel no symptoms that I'll get a full blown AF. Think that's it for us naturally.... I know there may be a small chance, but will be in a bit of limbo until our next appointment. Feeling a lot better in myself this week, had some good changes come through at work, and appointment feels like it will be here in no time at all.

Hey everyone, I've been on holiday for a week and we get our own forum! Woop!
I'm in the 2ww of my first round of clomid so just waiting it out really.
How is everyone? X
28/05/2013 at 17:13
awwww I didn't think anyone would move in here - well I kinda hoped no one would. No one else is gonna look in here and advise us.... bah.
28/05/2013 at 17:55
Of course they will, MB - don't forget ladies who have already had children or are pregnant all started out with the TTC part and I think as long as they all know their advice would be welcomed in here then they'll keep popping in. I certainly will, although can't personally help on much of the DTC advice.

Hi Browny, welcome back! Did you go away? We're off work this week, but just chilling out at home.
Sorry you feel that way MC. I have always found it emotionally difficult to search out the TTC threads from the BT/pregnancy ones, and felt like I should be contributing to all threads even though I didn't have much to add. I hope it doesn't put you off from posting here x
29/05/2013 at 09:46
Looby - how are you? Yes we went to turkey for 6 days which was lovely just wish I could have relaxed more!
Sometimes the others threads got me down, other times they didn't bother me so I have no preference either way. I just hope it gets busier over here now! X
29/05/2013 at 17:27
it just feels too secluded for me, like im being shut away cos I aint pregnant.....I didn't want to see the forums split into groups personally. If I was a mum, I wouldn't be coming over to the TTC forum to give advice, if im honest. I'd only do so if the thread was on the forum I was currently using.... I may not be a big contributer to MD but I still have an interest in what my ole Hitchers are up to, with their families.. hey ho, that's just my opinion.
I will pop in to see how u are from time to time but I think I'll stick with the main board xx

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while, my head needed some time to sort out priorities
Ll, fingers crossed your body will surprise you with a proper af. Mine are always really light with noresterone tho
Ducky, woohoo for appointment date! So excited for you
Browny, welcome to the clomid club
Mc, I think there is still lots of experience to be found in here but without causing unnecessary heartache to some people
AFM following the mc I had a long 6 week wait for af the made the decision to try again straight away. Have taken my clomid course and so far had 2 scan with a third booked. It's never very positive, either no dominant follicles or womb lining to thin and now to thick. Tbh I've really been struggling so hence booking reflexology and nice bits just for me
Enjoy the sunshine anyway people xxx

MB - I know how you feel but I've been surprised at how well its taken off and is busier than I thought. I think we all got a bit lost on the BT forum and hardly ever felt like we could join in. Here we can all mingle together and I'm definitely seeing the benefits.
NG- sorry you have been through such a cr@p time recently I really hope things turn around do you very soon. Have you heard for fertileCM? I've just ordered some to try next cycle. They claim to help with CM but also you lining. Don't know if its something you'd be interesting in looking in to. X
01/06/2013 at 13:28
I've not heard of fertilecm, is it tablets or lube?! I'm at the point when anything is worth a try!
01/06/2013 at 20:48
Tablets! I got mine from amazon. Expensive but if they work it'll be worth it! X
01/06/2013 at 21:17
Browny, is it like the fertili-tea or whatever it’s called? Part of me would shove anything down my throat if I thought it would help but I always feel nervous with supplements and stuff. Be interested to hear how you get on with them!
Sorry to barge in btw!
02/06/2013 at 09:05
Yes get out of our thread OB!!! *joking*
I'm off to google them, wonder if you can take them with clomid! At this rate I will
Have the most stimulated ovary ever xx
02/06/2013 at 16:06
I get nervous too OB-there's so many different things to try-its good to read of proven success on here.
Sorry you've been having a hard time NG, it's really important we're kind to ourselves and think that the reflexology and meditation will help you. A lot of it is about passing the time between the milestones too.
The one thing I'm struggling with at the moment is money...I want to make sure we have plenty saved ready for treatment if our NHS treatment doesn't work (or maternity leave if it does!) but also want to have holidays, housey stuff to look forward to but feel guilty at spending anything. silly, eh! But otherwise I feel a lot better than I have done in a long time-the sunnier weekend is certainly helping!

Hey girls, so this is my first official post on the TTC boards..... and what a great idea it was to have this seperate to the other board.
I'm feeling a bit meh at the moment, it turns out both my tubes are blocked Hydrosalpinx is the medical term, so IVF is our only option, I have to have an ultra sound next Thursday to check for fluid, if there is fluid present then I have to have a lap and they advised me to have my tubes clipped during this process to reduce the risk of the fluid infecting the embryo and to increase the chances of the IVF being succesful. My heads all over the place because gone will be the hope of me having the chance to ever conceive naturally and the only hope I have of future children is by IVF.
04/06/2013 at 15:13
Gosh CL that's a lot to take in! I'm sorry that ivf is your only option, and I hope that you are ok with it all. So when can you get started with it? Are you on a waiting list? X
