Fantastic news Looby. so happy for you xx
May I ask how long you had to wait for your eggs. I only ask since a good friend of mine was born with no ovaries and is now looking to start ttc, but has been told it's a 4yr wait and she only gets one try. Was that similar to your experience?

Thanks all for your lovely messages, I'm slowly getting used to the idea!
Barefoot-we got matched with our donor through an egg share program (donor is paying for IVF treatment and gets at a reduced price if she donates half of her eggs). It was my first cycle and I received free on the NHS. We we're put on the waiting list June/July last year, and matched October/November. We did attempt two cycles of IUI in that time, and also had to have counselling, sign consent forms etc too. They wouldn't approach us with a match until all of that had been completed and so would have been overtaken by other couples in that time too.
If I recall you're in the same county as me, so if it helps at all I had my treatment at Coventry CRM. More than happy to give more info if you have anymore questions. 4 years is a very long time to wait, but maybe that your friend is waiting for an altruistic donor? x
