My all time fave is from 'To Kill A mockingbird' - Harper Lee:
"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view […] until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." - walking a mile in someone else's shoes
I love it because it reminds me to think how others feel about something. Especially in an argument, it allows me to take a step back and think how the other person feels.

"There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"."
Is my fav quote - I found it while I was recovering from my accident and was told that my physio wasn't doing a good enough job on my wrist - and I may not be able to move my hand/wrist again.. Well I can do it! so screw you hand therapist rude lady!

"Jesus. You have the memory of a mentally ill elephant." - my husband to me, 2010 :D

I have a few:
"There is a thin line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line." Oscar Levant. It just makes me smile, in light of my MH issues.
"Eternity is a terrible thought. I mean, where is it going to end?" because its an interesting thought and also "Pirates could happen to anyone." Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead. The second one mostly because it makes me think of my Grandad (who was NOT a pirate, but told us a weird most likely made up story about being kidnapped by pirates.)

CC - love it - very good for dealing with negative people!
Enjayee - You must explain more on that one?!! Does that mean you have a bad memory? What did you do that he said that?!?!
Irrelephant - I like the genius & insanity one - reminds me of Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory (and plenty of other 'geniuses' I know!)

My favourite quote is one my Gran always uses "What's for you won't go past you, so live, laugh, love and dance like no ones watching" - I try to live by this.
Other silly phrases that i use a lot are
'Who'll be along in a what now?" - Monica from Friends - I use a fair few 'Friends' phrases in general, but this is one of my favourites!
"By all mean, move at a glacial pace' - Miranda, Devil Wears Prada
"I feel like a left shoe" - RKB, circa 2004
"Don't you love the people? Not a lively bunch though" - Original King Julien, Madagascar

RKB I love the Devil wears Prada one too!
From The Thick of It: Boo-F***ing-Hoo! I say this to D all the time.

Tayto - it's because I have a good memory! Can't remember what the conversation was about but I remembered a very specific detail from a date we'd had six months previous or something and that's when he came out with it!

My favourite quote is by Albert Einstein - "Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning." It reminds me to learn from what has gone before, looking forward to tomorrow with a bit of carpe diem thrown in for good measure!
That reminds me that I also love the saying "Every day is a school day" as I am constantly learning new things at work (I must have been *** on my first day!!)
