Due to start ttc in august/september been advised by nurse to start taking folic acid now, so went out and bought some however realised the multi vitamins i already take contain folic acid. However the ones i already take contain 100% RDA folic acid where as the ones i bought contain 200% RDA. Do you think i should stick with the multi vitamins which contain the 100%? Thought about taking these as well as the separate folic acid but that would make 300% which surely is too much?!
What are you all taking if you are planning on ttc later on in the year?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hey ya didnt want to read and run. Im taking boots own folic acid. Maybe cause your other multi vits contain a little bit then carry on with those and when ya finish start taking the other ones. not sure how too much folic acid can affect you but might be worth an ask to your doc. Were going to ttc when we get back of hols in sept baby dust all over!

I bought folic acid and was taking that then the Dr advised I take a Vitamin D supplement as well. So I bought santogen mother-to-be tablets, which contain folic acid and the Dr advised to just take those - not the folic acid as well. I don't know if it can cause any harm but I was just happy to only take one tablet not two (I'm not great with tablets!) x
