Trying to conceive

Lovely sunny day...cant say Ive a sunny disposition to match
Ive been trying to step back from TTC lark and just dtd every 2/3 days. Has been working for about the last 6 months but I think its time to start concentrating a bit more to see those 2 blue lines.
Ive made an app with my doc for next week. Im just so convinced I have sthing. PCOS has been ruled out due to my ovary scan being fine.
But my skin is dreadful and my weight around my middle shocking. A commuter on the train this morning asked how I was finding the heat, his mates missus is pregnant & really struggling with it. IE he thought I was pregnant too. I didn't even have the heart to correct him. My train in the mornings isn't that busy so no doubt I'll see him again. Texted OH once into work in tears & he said I should have corrected him but hes a lovely man who meant no ill & I knew I was ready to cry so I just started watching the iplayer.
So once in work I started looking up endometriosis and a lot of the syndromes fit. IE Im on day CD16 out of f**k knows what - ranging between 34 & 39 at the minute. But I constantly have a bit of cramping no matter what day im on. Sometimes I think its ovulation then say a week later I get ECWM and realise it wasn't. Says IBS syndromes can form part of endometriosis which is definitely the case for me - maybe Ive been thinking I have IBS but it could actually be this. Im just so desperate to understand and start fixing it.
My doc told me to come back in Sept so I know Im early but I don't care Im so fed up and I am really going to push to get the ball moving. I'll probably cry.
I see nothing but pregnant people around me. Another friend announced her second pregnancy at the wkend. Im just scunnered, absolutely & utterly f**king scunnered.
My weight is getting me down too - its just so concentrated around my middle - that commuter this morning isn't the only one to infer that with me recently.
Ive lost 6lb in 2 weeks which is amazing for me - even losing 1lb is amazing for me. I am doing a 12 week transformation class at a local gym. I love it but Ive always loved exercising. The trainer tells me Im the fittest out of the 15 he is working with. I genuinely am quite fit & strong so Im a fat but fit person. I would so love to wear clothes without worrying what will cover my tummy when I sit down. I have about 24lb to lose.
I know this board is quiet but I really just needed a wee moan today. If anyone has any experience of endometriosis, hormonal issues etc I would be grateful for any information. I guess its just chin up until next week.

Oh honey :( I don't have any experience with endometriosis or homonal issues but I didn't want you to feel alone before getting any replies. Massive hugs to you, you totally need it.
Good for you for doing the transformational program at the gym, it's awesome - I wish I was a fit as you sound!
I'm so sorry about the commuter's assumption, it must be absolutely gutting. As you say though, he was only meaning the best but it still doesn't take the sting off :(
Could you try and hassle your doctor for an appointment sooner?
Hugs lovely x

hun i dont want to upset you or diagnose you but PCOS doesnt mean you HAVE to have cysts on your ovaries., PCOS is just a term given to someone who suffers from any of the below
cysts on ovaries
struggles to loose weight
extra hair growth- face, tummy, breasts
i dont have any cysts but i have PCOS

Thanks for your replies.
I just couldn't bring myself to speak after he said it. A girl in work said it to me maybe 6/8 wks ago & my uncle asked if I had anything to announce last week. In fairness I was wearing a smock top but I thought it was quite flattering. Obviously not lol.
That's the earliest I can get that suits us both - I work an hr away from where I live & my diocs - but its a bank holiday wkend in NI this week so I cant see it making a big difference to be honest.
Monnie - how did you get diagnosed without cysts then?
See I assume Im ovulating but I havnt done any of them tests to check - I just feel it & I get loads of ECWM. Then roughly 2 weeks later I get my period.
He talked about doing 21 day bloods but as I am that irregular its kinda impossible to do.
The thing with endo that struck me was the cramps & IBS but I know that doesn't explain my skin & stomach weight. Knowing my luck i'll probably end up being diagnosed with both.
I genuinely eat healthy - with a take away, desert, maybe a glass of wine @ wkends. My stomach is really getting me down. Im quite short too so it really shows.

21 day bloods are also a generic name , basically the test should be done 7 days after ovulation, so you would go 7 days after you see the EWCM.
diagnosis is based on having the i believe 4 or more of the symptoms i mentioned, you dont have to have the cysts to still be diagnosed.

I agree with monnie about the PCOS, you don't need the cysts to have a hormone imbalance.
With your IBS and cramps, can you elaborate? I could tell you what I had and I've had a lap to check for endo and it was clear.

Oh and on other thing (to hopefully reassure you) with a range of 34-39 days in your cycle that would almost be classed as normal x

Hi OB - thanks for replying.
Basically I have cramping all the time. Not overly painful but a wiggly feeling - low down & at my sides / under hipbone if that makes sense?
Im bloated regularly & am constantly either constipated or diarrhea.
I thought 28 - 32 days cycle was considered normal & mine would be long so yes that is nice to know!

Hmm, is it bad enough to need painkillers? It’s very difficult really with endo, you can have very little and be in agony or loads but hardly have pain. The bloating could be a sign, but then it could just be IBS on its own doing that (that’s what mine was).
What are your periods like? Do you have pain? When does the pain start/end? What’s the blood like (I know its tmi but it can be very telling!)? Are they heavy/normal?
Other than go in and look it’s really difficult to diagnose endo. I was offered the pill as a ‘diagnostic’ but that was the opposite of what I wanted so they sent me straight for a lap. It’s not a nice thing to have done and it takes a couple of weeks to feel better but if it brings you piece of mind it would be worth it.
Have you had all the relevant blood tests for PCOS though? I would definitely investigate this one further first, as it’s much less invasive!
25 to 35 is normal, so you really aren’t far off!

I'm really bad at never taking painkillers - I just struggle through. 90% of the time though I would say I don't need them.
Periods are quite heavy & painful. Last 5 days approx & the first 2 days are horrendous pain wise. PMT for a good wk before hand. Um the blood is quite bright red & stringy?!
I would def just go for a lap - this has all been going on long enough.
Well he took my bloods & I've had my ovaries & kidneys scanned with nothing showing. I don't know any other tests for PCOS.
I need to make a list of everything don't I!

No real advice too add, But just wanted to give you a hug, I suffer from PCOS so know how crappy having those symptoms are. Mine was diagnosed so long ago I can only remember having bloods taken and a internal/external scan.
I'd deff keep pestering the GP though :)!
Hope you get some answers soon!

Did you have your bloods on the correct CD?
The pain ties in, but very often with endo the blood at the start of your period is dark brown (like how it goes at the end).
Yes, make a list of all your sympotms, hopefully they will refer you on. How long have you been trying? If it’s less than 2 years you need to push for a gynae referral, because you won’t move along as quickly with fertility.
11/07/2013 at 19:13
Been trying since May 2012. I think procotol is different in NI for fertility so I need to look into it. Thanks for the replies ladies & wish me luck for Tue!

Good luck!! (Sorry it's late!)

I have endometriosis, it causes really bad IBS symptoms as well. For 3 days a month I am in a lot of pain, pain killers don't touch it. I found I was really bloated and carrying a lot of weight around my middle. It took me years to get a diagnosis, I had to have several lap and dye ops to help. Although as others have said it could still be PCOS.
16/07/2013 at 11:26
Thanks Ladies. That's helpful Vlvixon & sounds very similar. Im definitely going to push for testing for Endo.
Will update later / tomorrow!

I'm getting referred for infertility treatment & my OH is to go to his doc for a sperm test. He says gynae will do / arrange the tests re endo, dye test on my tubes etc.
Had a cry earlier but I'm glad the wheels are in motion.
Oh thinks I'm panicking too soon - dont think he likes thought of sperm test but it would rule him out if nothing else.
Thanks for all your kind words.
