Aww no Hun that's rubbish! What was the appointment for?
04/08/2014 at 19:33
Sorry - my fertility clinic referral. Was for my fist appointment.
04/08/2014 at 19:38
That's awful!! (((((Hugs)))))

I'm sorry, veecee - it's understandable that you're upset. Hope you get a proper explanation when you ring tomorrow. Sending hugs x

That's ridiculous. Surely if you're referred its for a good reason and they can't just decide they're not taking it forward?
04/08/2014 at 21:20
So sorry to hear this vc - can't believe they can just go and do this? Hope your Drs can give you a better explanation or fix this mess up x

Thanks all. OH has calmed me down. Must be some kind of error but it's just horrible as they have sent a completely pro forma letter. I'm trying to supress the fear that even if it was a mistake that I'm out of the system now and will have to start again. Fingers crossed that's not the case.
05/08/2014 at 08:42
So sorry to read this veecee, I really do hope this is a mistake and they can sort this quickly for you x
05/08/2014 at 09:07
They can't do this! Did they not go through the criteria at your first appointment? If so, then you can appeal surely! So sorry you're going through this V. x
05/08/2014 at 09:08
I just hope this is all a bit of fate in a twisted way and you don't need the referral after all. x

Phoned GP's surgery. After a quick check it seems that they got the same vague letter as me so the duty Dr is looking into and they are going to get back to me.

It seems Kent has moved to a requirement that you have been trying for 2 years before you can be referred. I'm really upset. I don't know why I wasn't told this, but instead led to believe I was moving towards assistance.
05/08/2014 at 10:13
Veecee, have you had any tests done yet? The reason I say this, is you could always go private, then if something is found you will get a quicker referral?
05/08/2014 at 10:17
Ya, I've had blood tests that confirmed ovulation and scans show no cysts or anything. I spot for a week or so before my period which is why I thought I was getting an early referral but the Dr today (not the one who referred) didn't seem to think this was something that could be treated anyway. He said OH can still go for sperm analysis at our GPs.

Hi Veecee, I'm so sorry you've been disappointed like this. How long have you been trying now? If you can still have the SA done via the GP go for this as it is something to get ticked off the list. I know it' awful but the past 6 months for us have gone quickly whilst waiting for the GP to refer us. TTC is a constant waiting game so it must feel like a blow now they've moved the rules again xx
05/08/2014 at 13:51
So sorry to hear they've moved the goalposts vc. Will your H take them up on the SA anyway? From everything I've read, they do investigate the spotting before AF? Maybe get back on the blower and don't take no for an answer?!

Dolly, we're on cycle 13 now. It's funny, your comment has made me think. We do treat it like a game, with lots of rules and so that's exactly how it feels this morning. But then, it's completely not a game, at all, in any way: It's science and luck and timing and we can try and figure a few things out but we don't have the power to win this. Realising this had made me feel a bit more 'Zen' about it all. When it's meant to happen, it will. OH will get the SA done, as it's worth checking.
Tayto - they do investigate it but usually it's connected to not ovulating. I am ovulating so they are not too bothered about it, from what I can make out.
