Trying to conceive

Sorry I haven't been around much this week - hope everyone is keeping well. Some catch up from this weeks thread's personals - in reverse!
Mrs-T - Good luck with the 'all-out' plan - I had a few of those but didn't keep anything up. Do try lots of water as that can improve CM which helps the spermies although not great if you're using the internet cheapy opks as too much water could make the surge. Good luck with seeing your doc - we've gone past that stage so let me know if you ahve any questions about what to expect - it does differ from area to area though,
Lulu - yes, heating in your house can impact your temp - I've noticed my coverlines were higher in winter when we had lots of heat in the house. The last one dropped by about .2 which is the average temp drop in the house since it started to get warmer! Hope you hear about your appointment soon!
Hopeful - Did you decide against IUI on your own or did your gynae team advise that? Just wondering as the clinic we've been referred to don't even offer IUI.....
Enjayee - I'm so sorry to hear your H is being a dork again - mine is very similar so I have some idea of how much you want to shake some sense in to him! Glad you're feeling positive after your appointment & your plan is in place again. I think you would be best to just try naturally for the fourth cycle rather than IUI - it will be good to ahve te break from injections etc. We're here from hand holding for the next few months for you x
Claire-lou52 - lovely to see you and that ticker on here! Hope all is progressing well & I look forward to seeing your BA shortly xx
Sally - sorry AF arrived - I went to see the doc on my tenth cycle too - worth a try? If you could, I would suggest you see if your could go for an SA - in some ways, i wish I had sent mine off in the early days - it really is a very easy test and can put both your minds to rest.
AFM - due to ov Monday/Tuesday but I had a local anaesthetic on tuesday (for a research procedure on body fat) when I got the first high on the CB digi and still high today (5 in total) which is very unusual for me. Previously it was only two highs before the peak but the last cycle was 4 and this is 5 but I reckon estradiol peaked on Tuesday and, due to the anaesthetic, LH hasn't peaked yet. Can't rely on temps as I've been a naughty girl this weekend and drinking my body weight in wine! Oh and I got my fertility referral appointment changed to the 29th April which is a week after we get back from Venice and a week before we go back to Ireland for our 2nd anniversary. Hoping they'll offer a HSG and another SA for H.
Hello to anyone around xx

Hi Tayto- during the open day I attended back in March it was mentioned by nurse that due to my age it might be better to go to IVF straight away. IUI would only get the sperm into me but wouldn't guarantee fertilisation and as I will be 42 in a few months time isn't really on my side. I've not made any decisions as yet. Will see what the doctors advise
Off to Boston this week for work and then have appointment on 24th at Frimley Park hospital so will see what they have to say. Hope I can start treatment in May/June.
Hello to all that follow.

Hi Tayto, hi Hopeful x
Thanks for the message, we went shopping and spent £40 odd on clearblue opks just because I could start them sooner than waiting for ones I could order. I started back on the EPO and got him back on the pregnacare. I also ordered conceive plus last week and they have arrived, lets hope it all works!
Was wondering though if I was to go get individual tablets to take along side would I then overdose us or would it be OK.
Good luck with your appointment Hopeful, sounds positive x
Same for you Tayto x

I'm here but crazy busy at work as usual. Luckily the weather is nice which is distracting the typical Monday blues but I would still rather be outside!
Am expecting AF today if it's anything like my previous two cycles. Nothing yet but I think she'll be here within the next six hours as she doesn't always show in the morning. Even if she doesn't show today I'm not getting excited as my previous cycles were one day longer than since I've been on meds so if not today then tomorrow. But I'm taking it day by day. I have been more relaxed about it this time round as we're planning for IVF. Tayto, I think we will try naturally for the fourth go just to give myself a break but then part of me will kick myself if we don't at least give it a go so I'm not sure what to do. Will discuss with H when AF arrives.
Hi to all who follow!

Tayto - thanks for the info re temping, temps seem to have risen again now. Glad you got your appointment sorted.
Hopeful - Glad you've got your appointment too, have fun in Boston!
Mrs T - Good luck for this cycle!
Enjayee - I still hope AF doesn't arrive but glad you've got your plan in place anyway.
AFM - Had a lovely weekend and got a short week this week yay! :-) TTC wise just waiting for AF but hoping she doesn't turn up at all of course!

I'm on my phone so please forgive any errors! Currently on a webinar and falling asleep!
Tayto - hope you ov soon. What was the body fat study? Glad you managed to move your appointment, not long to wait now. I think I plan on seeing how this cycle goes, then I might make an appointment and see if we can make a start!
Hopeful - good luck for your appointment. :-)
Mrs-T - fingers crossed for this cycle for you. Hopefully your full attack plan pays off!
Enjayee - I'm hoping AF stays away for you, I think I'd be tempted to go naturally this month just to give yourself a break before the IVF process begins in earnest, but I can ser why you might want to go IUI again.
Lulu - fingers crossed she doesn't turn up. I hope you are ok.
AFM - CD6. On to the good times, I'm hopeful this month, (I think!) - my SIL is due her second in a few weeks which is making me a bit emotional about things, but on the whole I think I am fine!
Back to the Webinar. Zzzzzzz.

Sally - Lots of vibes for this cycle for you - yes, it's hard when someone close by is expecting - I'm getting to the stage where I'm watching to see who could be potentially announcing a BFP so I'm almost prepared, if that makes sense! The body fat study was about taking body fat from the good area (hips) and the bad area (belly) so they can analyse the differences in terms of producing medication for metabolic/endocrinology & diabetic problems. Webinar sounds like heaps of fun! <>
Lulu - Excellent on the short week & lovely weekend - did you do anything nice? Hope AF stays away for you x Any news on the appointment?
Enjayee - Hope work eases up for you and of course for AF to stay away.
Mrs-T - I use the CB digi opks so shout if you have any questions. What tablets are you talking about taking? Re the EPO, I believe you aren't meant to take them beyond OV as they could cause issues - I believe it's flaxseed you take after ov to help with implantation. I've tried both of these but with H's low sperm count, they're not going to help!
Hopeful - best of luck for your appointment.
AFM - Still high on the digi so don't think I've ov'ed yet. 4 days to Venice trip!!
Hello to all!

Can do personals now - just killing time before I have to leave for my dance class!
Tayto - fingers crossed for ov soon! Is it late for your usual cycles or around about normal? Venice is lovely, how long are you there for?
Sally - I can completely sympathise with that sort of thing. One of my best friends has just given birth and a colleague is actually due to give birth today. When she told me she was pregnant it was the day before my GP appointment to find out what was wrong with me which stung, especially because this one is her third and unplanned. I've slowly accepted that there's no such thing as fairness when it comes to this. I hope you're ok and at least you're onto the good part of the cycle :-)
Lulu - lucky you with the short week! Hope AF stays away for you x
Mrs T - good luck with the plan! Echo what Tayto said - EPO shouldn't be taken after ovulation. What other tablets are you taking? I would check with herbalist and a GP to be honest, you don't know how different medicines, herbal or not, will affect each other. That's not meant to put a downer on you, just that one of my best friends self medicated trying to improve progesteron, decided on a high dose of vit B but found she messed up her ovulation. Like I say, not trying to scare you at all, but just looking out for you x
Hopeful - best of luck for the appointment

Grr I typed a long reply and my tablet froze!
Anyway, we are both now just taking pregnacare his/hers. I think I would rattle with the ones I found and would cost a fortune but I appreciate your concern. As for the OH I think my breakdown has finally got us on the same page. He said the look on my face was as if someone had died and he never wanted to ever let me go.
He is jow interested in my OPK sticks and has even read the instructions which is most unlike him!
Lulu - Hope AF stays away for you x
Sally - I feel for you, I hate seeing people announce let alone family where you 'have' to be happy
Tayyo - Lucky you with Venice, such a beautiful country to visit in general. Very jealous! Hope you OV soon too x
Enjayee - I can see why you would want to have a break before going to start IVF, I really hope though that you don't need to take that month out because AF won't show up.
