Trying to conceive

Me and my partner decided to ttc earlier this year . I came off the pill on 17/1/14. I had a period the week after on the 24th but have had nothing since. we have been getting together regularly and tracking ovulaton via dates etc. I dont know my cycle length as we decided to just see how it went. Working out dates i should get AF from the 21st onwards. I have had stomach aches and pains starting a few days after supposed ovulation, and i have never had pains like it, not too uncomfortable just a dull ache and the odd cramp. I am taking folic acid but as of yet no signs of either AF or pregnancy, tests still coming up negative but something inside my head is telling me I am, Anyone else in this sort of situation.

Hey Beckla24 I am in exactly the same situation! I was actually due on my period 19th Jan but still no sign.
Did a test yesterday and came up as a BFN! Was so rooting for a positive!
I have a feeling it is just my body getting back to normal after the pill.
I have been getting dull aching pains in my lower abdomen, back and sore boobs but think its just a period.
I really wish I came off the pill earlier!

I came off my pill at end of January and have just had my BFP! Very excited, and shocked at how quickly it happened

Hey I came off the pill July 2013 after being on it 9 years. My periods are definitely all over the place now which I was expecting but rather than getting back to normal the cycles are just getting further and further apart. Each month my cycle gets longer 1st month 28 days then next month 30 then 34 then 37 then this month was 41 before AF showed up yesterday! It can be very frustrating because it's a long month for most women when ttc but to go 41 days just takes the biscuit! i have a clear blue fertility monitor which I brought in no and that shows I do ovulate but at around day 26 so that's a good sign I guess. I went to the gp yesterday and I'm having a blood test tomorrow then have to go back in a few weeks for a gynae examination just to check everything out. My gp told me it is expected to have messed up cycles for abit but even the dr said my cycles shouldn't be increasing in length, hence the tests now.
So my advice beckla24 is just keep going and give your self a good few months of tracking ur cycle and then you can work out exactly when u ovulate. the clear blue fertility monitor is expensive but u can buy cheaper ovulation sticks and try them. Good luck

I was on the Microgynon pill for about 10 years....I came off the pill in April 2013 but we didn't actively start ttc until July 2013. My periods were all over the place and were lasting anything from 32 to 44 days which was a nightmare. I started taking Agnus Castus which regulated my periods to 32 days and I was ovulating around CD19 every month after taking Agus Castus. I would highly recommend this.
I then got my BFP on 4th January, so it took us 7 months to conceive. My Dr told me that it can take up to 6 months for the pill to be fully out of your system. Don't lose hope...it is different for everyone! I know some people that have caught the month they stopped taking it. That's the worst part about ttc, you have no control over it whatsoever....you do everything right each month and it's just if you are lucky enough for the egg to get fertilised.
Good luck ladies xx

Everybody is different... I took extra vitamins after coming off Microgynon after many years in Feb 2013. And despite being 42 was pregnant by late May 2013. We now have a wonderful little girl, born a month ago. Everyone's fertility varies, but eat healthily, maybe take the pre-conception vitamins and try and relax and let nature take its course, at least for 6months or so. I hope you get the positive result you want asap x

I came off the pill in January 2014 and had the normal withdrawal bleed and then didnt get my natural period until CD35! Was so hoping to be pregnant and was gutted when it came up as BFN!
Its so hard because I dont know my regular cycle length yet so have been having sex left right and centre haha! I am really hoping to get a BFP this month, but something tells me it might take a while.
Although, I am only about 4DPO (I think) and have got slightly sore (*)(*)'s! All I keep doing is reading on forums! Its such a long process this 2WW.
Babydust to everyone! xxxxx
