My H had this test yesterday but didn't think to ask when results would be available!!
Does anyone have any ideas?

Snap! My H had his yesterday too but the Doc had already told him what to do. The advice he got was to book an appointment with his Doc approx two weeks after submitting the sample to the Fertility Clinic so H has booked his for tomorrow 2 weeks as we figure that will be enough time. The Fertility Clinic sends the results directly to the Doc hence the appointment with him rather than the Clinic.
Just in case it's different in your area, have him ring your Doctor and check - I assume it was your GP that referred him for the SA? If yes, he/she will definitely know.

Great thanks Tayto. Yes it was GP who asked for test.

Best of luck Hopeful - how did you H get on with it? My H had to do his an hour before dropping the sample off at the Fertility Clinic so was worried about traffic etc but he managed fine. He even did a test run on Friday night to ensure his aim was ok, bless him!

He managed fine. The 'act' itself was a bit tricky he told me but logistics worked fine. He called lab to ensure someone there at his ETA, then booked taxi to get him to the hospital. Made it just within the 60 minute timeframe.
I'm just impatient about the wait to get the results!!
I just want us to move forward. My clock's ticking and fast!

I'm impatient too but there's a little part of me that thinks this is a nice unknown period of time where nothing is wrong yet while we wait for all the tests and I'm terrified of finding out that there might be something wrong that isn't fixable - that's the negative streak in me that assumes the worst immediately! I will be one of those types sitting in the docs surgery trying to guess whether their facial expression is based on bad news!

Where I work it takes between 7 and 10 working days, since we send away slides for staining so we can assess the morphology. Then you compile the report, double check it and sign it off. It seems like a long time but stuff is happening during that time! Good idea to phone to check though. Hope neither of you have to wait too long! X

Hi, sorry to wade in (I'm a lurker these days!), my husband dropped his sample off on a Tuesday and we happened to have an appointment with our fertility doctor (at the same hospital) the next day and he already had the results, we may have just been lucky but it's worth an ask!

WT - I'd forgotten you said you worked in an IVF lab - I may have some questions for you in due course!
Scotty - Oohh I like the sound of that; will get H on to it - can't hurt to ask!
Dolly - That's fairly quick - Oxfordshire must be slow!
