Does anyone have any advice (from medical / fertility clinics) about how often is best for DTD? Typically we aim for every other day, last cycle we tried to increase this to daily during the time of positive OPKs. I'm wondering if thats the best thing to do, or if your best to continue with every other? You never know what to do for the best do you! I know they need to 'replenish' etc, but also know you should keep trying to DTD regularly so that it does replenish. Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Supposedly every other day, to give the spermies the best amount of time to develop. I think it all depends on how goos his spermies are in the first place though, and how would you know unless you've had a SA?

Every day is fine if your H has no known issues, otherwise every 2-3 days to give them time to build up. Increasing water intake (for H) will increase the liquid, not the actual sperm count, but will make it easier for them to swim. Toni (TCOYF author) recommends DTD every day that you see EWCM.

Imp - Exactly! I need to look into SA, I've had various checks done and been marked as 'high risk' for fertility problems. H hasn't had any tests though, I wonder if I'd be able to organise a SA for him through my doctor. He probably wouldn't stand a chance having one done through his own (as not been TTC for a full year yet). We are due referral in Jan.

I think you can get a SA done here at 6 months, might be worth checking?

Will try and get H to go to his doctor! He hasn't been for about 30 years so we shall see!

We had tests at less than six months, ovulation bloods for me, and a SA for H, no problem at all. It really (sadly) seems to vary from GP to GP, it would be worth looking in to though.

Thanks. Yes - I've had tests and more tests (blood work and scan mainly) because of suspected issues. H hasn't had any tests though.

We had to wait 1yr for any kind of tests. My H has his sperm analysis next week x
