Trying to conceive

I was Googling today (yes again) and I came across this very interesting bit of information about sore boobs in the 2ww.
I found the section called 'Location of pain and what it means' particularly interesting. I had horrendously sore boobs mostly at the nipples last cycle which was unusual for me and I suspected that I hadn't ovulated. Interestingly my theory is confirmed in this article.
I have no idea if there is any truth in the stuff written but I still think its interesting.
During your menstrual period, estrogen and progesterone, the female reproductive hormones, are hard at work. Estrogen springs into action before a woman ovulates and progesterone levels rise around the time of ovulation. Progesterone causes water retention as it prepares the uterus for a possible pregnancy. This fluid can make your breasts sore and tender. The extra water weight stretches your breast tissue and this can be painful. Your nipples may be sore, too. Estrogen actually increases the amount of breast tissue so it, too, can cause larger breasts that are sensitive to the touch, according to Menopauselifestyle.com.

Thanks for sharing this CA, really interesting.
My boobs always get huge within hours of OV. I'm like a cartoon character with a pump lol. Guess that's the water retention!

That's interesting and very accurate.
I KNOW I haven't ovulated yet (that's tomorrow, of sorts), and my boobs are killing all over the nipples. I think I'm taking E2 dominance to the exteme mind, but nice to know it ties in. I'll let you know if the pain changes over the weekend.

That is very interesting thank you! I will try and keep track if and when I get sore boobs now!

wow, that is really interesting! I have had side boob pain in the past, and on those cycles temping did confirm ovulation. I am currently in doubts about what is happening this cycle so will bear this in mind.

I've never noticed a change in my boobs. It was only the week when I got pregnant. Will be on the look out for it this cycle

As the lovely CA will know I get 'fire' nipples around ovulation... hope this isn't a bad sign :/
