Trying to conceive

Let me introduce myself! I am Becki and me and my H have recently started trying for a baby! I came off microgynon after about 18 months on it on 6 January, and being on various over contraceptive methods since I was 16. I have yet to have my af arrive so I am currently on cd35 since coming off the pill.
We only actively started trying at the beginning of last week (2 February) and have dtd a few times since then. As I haven't had af it has been difficult to work out if/when i am ovulating. However on Saturday afternoon I got really bad stabbing pains in my right side and today have a dull ache in my lower belly and my boobs are really sore. Is this ovulating or just my body sorting its self out or it is implantation pain?Help!

Hi Becki. Microgynon affects everyone differently, some women will go back to regular cycles as soon as they stop taking it and others can wait months for cycles to return and even then they may not be the same as they were previously.
With regards to the pains to be honest they could be anything as there is no real way to tell if you are pregnant or if it's a sign your AF is about to arrive (or something totally unrelated to baby making!) until it actually happens one way or the other. You spend a hell of alot of time during TTC waiting unfortunately!

Thanks for replying PurpleStar. I suppose it is just a waiting game! I might do a test in a couple of weeks if my af still hasn't shown because I could still be ovulating I suppose!
Very new to all these pains etc so not sure what my body is telling me to be honest!
Hey Becki, No advice to add to what PS has already said but just wanted to say hi and welcome you to MD and I hope your TTC journey is a short one!
The only way you are going to know for sure if you ovulated is Temping and OPK'S. If these would interest you, Lots of the ladies on here can give you some advice on them!

What you're describing could just be af on it's way (unfortunately).
I found I got a dull ache low down when I ovulated but it was definitely a different pain to period pains.
Anyway, I hope your journey is a short one and welcome to md!
