Trying to conceive

Since having my daughter I;ve not really monitored my periods, as they were regular before so assumed they were now.
We are TTC for baby no.2 (month 1), and so I've been looking at the dates of my periods since January. I have noticed that they can go from being 28 days apart, to being 36 days apart!!
I now don't know when I should test, or even which days to TTC on (I am not monitoring my ovulation etc)
Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated, as to when to test etc.

The best way to monitor is to chart/temp. Basically you take your temp the same time every morning after min 3 hours sleep and over the month it creates a graph which tells you the exact day you ovulate. See my chart in my signature, you can read all about it at
when you've ovulated the temperatures rise dramactically showing the day of ovulation, good thing is fertility friend does it all for you, all you do is put the temps in.
You can also use ovulation sticks, start using them around day 10 of your cycle (day 1 is first day of period) do the ovulation sticks at 11am or 2pm and you should get either a positive or a neg result. Ladies usually get around 1-2 positive before ovulation actually occurs. Start having sex every other day from day 11 and then when you get a positive either continue every other day or do everyday if you want! everyone uses different methods, find the one that suits you and your partner.
there is also this site which may help you...
I wish you well on your ttcing journey, if you want some support please join lots of ladies trying for their bfp in the sun, sea and stacks of bfp's please post! xx

hey, i too came off at start of the year, trying for number 2, it took 42 days until i got my first af, then it was 36days then 32 etc, luckily this month i got a bfp.
i basically just said right for 2 weeks, lets do it twice a day lol, i could also feel when i was ovulation, pain for 3 days, changes in mucas etc, and i did try to use online charts for a rough idea.
i had said to hubbie that next month i was going to get an ovulation kit, only had a quick look at them in the shops, but its worth a try?
good luck x
