hi, not sure i'll actually be any help cos slightly different but, i was wrongly diagnosed with pnd after ds, after some councilling it actually turned out the birth had left me with post traumatic stress (the gp and hv had thought pnd becasue was baby/birth related so just automatically put it down to that)...as we're now ttc again i am beginningt o get some 'symptoms' back, mainly cos i'm worried about another birth, but i've spoken to my hv who is referring me for some councelling, which hopefully will help again, but no meds ever, my gp did offer them when they thought i had pnd but i refused as was bf at the time and she wldn't give them unless i quit bf (???) ... did u have a particulalry traumtic birth or any labour birth issues taht play on ur mind? if so u acn request a 'birth aferthoughts' meeting with a midwif-come-counsellor who will go thru ur notes and discussany issues with u, i found this very helpful, and it was her who initally referred me for further counselling. is there anyone u cld speak to about ur worries, i'm assuming that ur worried that pnd will return? u cld speak to ur hv or a pnd support group, so u know what to do if it does occur agin, but also talking about it before it happens might help prevent it or stop it escalating, iyswim? also tho bare in mind that just because u had pnd once, doesn't mean it will happen again, but if it does ur probably far more aware of the signs now then nbefore so will be able to pick up on it quicker qnd get help sooner xx
