Getting Pregnant <
Trying to conceive

And I can't stop smiling about it!
My little monkey is 8.5 months old which is when we said we'd start trying again. It's gone so fast, and I've had a bit of a wobble recently over whether we should start trying again or not, but then I thought it's going to be nearly a year before another one comes along, and that's if it happens straight away, so I've still got plenty of time to enjoy Ryan, and still get to have the close age gap we wanted.
The only thing is, I am still breastfeeding. Never at night now, and maybe about 4-5 times in the day, especially with it being hot, so I'm hoping I can get pregnant despite this.
One good thing is I can be a bit more relaxed this time, I've already got my perfect little man, so another little munchkin will be a fab bonus, whereas with number 1 I was just soooo desperate to get pregnant, and it was only when we had a month off 'trying' that it happened. So not thinking about it, just quietly hoping it doesn't take too long!

hi tigerlilly, congrats on ttc! Maybe im in the minority but im still bf 2 to 3 times in 24 hours at 9 months, and i had a period 4 weeks ago. I know i ovulated too as two weeks prior to it i had ovulation pain on one side. Are you having periods yet?
I constantly agonise over when to ttc again. At 9 months it all feels a bit recent, i just dont feel i can do it all again just yet - and oh is almost terrified of the thought - plus we need to move house. But i hate the thought of starting again once things have got much easier with the one we've got! x

Hi Alfie, does your little one drink much water? Ryan doesn't really which is why i feed him a bit more as i worry he's not getting enough liquid!
No af for me yet but i was having pains in one side a few days ago, but then i've never had ovulation pains before so don't know if that was it. I also only stopped taking the pill a few days ago, but i have read that you can still ovulate while on the mini pill.
We always knew we wanted a small age gap, hubby is just as keen, if not more so, than me that we're ttc number 2! I LOVED being pregnant though, except for being sick!

we started on the water in a cup with meals at 6 months, as the milk decreased i started offering sips between meals too. maybe try water in a bottle (i know this is a no no, but for a baby thats been breast fed i dont think a few extra bottles will hinder his speech development too much!) he doesnt acually need that much milk and it will free you up a bit - might even get you ovulating lol!
My HV is always telling me to cut the mid morn feed out as she keeps telling me they only need 2 at his age with lots of dairy, and it will make life easier, but if he wants it, i still want him to have it.
i wish my oh was as keen on ttc - he talks like having lo has been so traumatic - its a tough first year but so worth it. just the last few weeks lo is becoming such a little man and im really starting to see oh's face light up with magic every time he does something new. so i hope the broodiness wont be too far off! I think he's just lazy tbh! x
