Many women wonder about the right time to try to conceive again after miscarriage. From a purely physical point of view, the body heals rapidly from a miscarriage, and menstrual periods usually return within 4 to 6 weeks, meaning that it is possible for many women to become pregnant right away if they choose. The World Health Organization has recommended that women wait six months after a miscarriage before trying to conceive again, but new research data call this recommendation into question. For example, a 2010 study showed that women who conceived within the first six months after a miscarriage had a lower incidence of miscarriage and pregnancy problems than women who waited longer. Women who have had multiple miscarriages should discuss their plans for conception with their doctor. Testing to determine the cause of repeat miscarriages may be recommended before attempting another pregnancy. Testing can include genetic testing of the parents to determine whether chromosomal abnormalities are present or imaging tests to look for problems with the uterus.

Thank you for your reply I just I will just try and see what happens x

It is recommended not to try until the bleeding stops to minimise the risk of infection. Also you need to nake sure you have taken a negative pregnancy test before trying again to ensure everything has come away

I tried straight away after all my miscarriages after bleeding stopped :)
Its all about re dating your new pregnancy really and how you personally feel about it:)
I lost a little boy at 20 weeks gave birth to him then had emergency surgery as placenta got stuck :/ I left it one full cycle after that loss to let wounds heal internally and my uterine lining to thicken up .
good luck with trying again and I’m so very sorry for you loss :( xxx

So so sorry for your loss, its just the worst thing to go through :(
I have 2 boys age 8 and 10 and had a mmc at 13 weeks, we had seen him/her only 9 days before on a scan alive and well but I was concerned that s/he wasnt measuring right (was measuring 1 week behind and I was pretty certain of my dates). Anyway, I had a D&C on 2nd May and we started trying as soon as the bleeding has stopped. Its the only way I can see I can get through it is to be pregnant again. I am 40 btw. Just so you are aware though, I was still testing faint positive on a First Response until Friday although internet cheapies went negative over a week before that. I have had the faintest positive this morning again on FRER but im not convinced that it isnt still left over HCG.
Wishing you all the best x

I know Hanz it seems to just go on when you want to just move forward hope things are sorted for you now:)
razoredcarrot I got positive pg tests and positive opks for a further 5 weeks after my last 2 losses couldn’t move on it drove me insane!
Im 41 and just fallen pg again , 2 years it took after my last loss like you a MMC at 12 weeks never give up hope :) I’m 10wks +3 should’ve been scanned ages ago but my anxiety of scan rooms after 5 losses is too intense :( Ive got 3 cheeky children and really count my blessings that all these miscarriages happened later on as it would’ve put me off! Decided on a 4th aged 37 and all the problems started:/ diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility kinda gave up hope after 2 years then it just happened bizzar! Got my fingers 🤞 tightly
Hope you ladies get your sticky beans very soon lots of baby dust to you both 😘

Thank you missmyangels. Its so difficult isnt it and like you I am so blessed to have my boys x Fantastic news for you, I know where you are coming from about the scan, I dont know if it happens for us again if I will be desperate for a scan or avoiding like the plague. Im sure you will be fine this time and will keep everything crossed for you! With your tests after your loss, did a first response ever go negative then go faint positive again? Really not getting my hopes up but do find it weird. The line today is the same strength as CD22 last week (now CD28) and was negative on Friday. Cheapies went negative after 12 days.
Sorry Hanz for jumping on your thread! x

I used internet cheapies that were 10miu and tested every morning until negative for 2-3 days so I was 100% sure! But I use opks for ovulation and they stayed positive for another 5 days so I know I had hcg in me still as they go to very strong positive also when pg when they went negative we started trying again:)
I didn’t use FRs as just seemed a waste of money I used one step from Amazon get about 20 pg tests at 10miu for £3-4! They work just as well handy if a serial tester too as it saves you some money haha!!
