Getting Pregnant <
Trying to conceive

I wondered if Anyone could share their experience with me? I fell pregnant in janurary but lost the baby at the end of April, at this time I was offered a promotion at work and starting taking the pill. I stopped my pill midcycle (having only just realised thats probably not the best thing to do) on the 11th of July. I had my withdrawal bleed a few days after which I tracked. using this as a guideline for when I might be due a period and ovulate I'm due to come on in 9 days. How likely do you think it will be that my cycle goes back to normal? I only took the pill for 2.5months and we are now ready to try again. Really what I'm asking is, do you think it's possible to fall soon? Has anyone else fallen soon after taking the pill and had stopped midway through?

very sorry to hear that you lost the baby in April. I was on the pill for a few years and I came off mid December, I had a bleed in early Jan and fell pregnant soon after that, I am expecting on the 6th November so yes you can fall very quickly, i couldnt believe how quickly it happened for us , i had only one bleed between stopping and falling pregnant so it is very possible. wishing you lots of luck, i think the main thing is just to relax and it will happen

I have a 14 month old and I am 12 weeks pregnant now. With both pregnancies I was taking the pill (current pregnancy my OBGYN recommended I take for 3 months to re-regulate my ovulation and increase my chances of getting pregnant) Both times I got my withdrawal bleed from stopping my pills then my period never came. Good luck! Also I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

first time in joining one of these, and they look like really good help! If you could help me it would be amazing.
I had my last period the week before I started taking my pill again on Sunday 12th July. By the Tuesday/ Wednesday I was getting slight stomach cramping, spotting and bloating in my stomach, so came straight off the pill as was worried there could be a chance I was pregnant. After coming off the bill I then continued to bleed for 4/5 days which I was unsure if was my period or symptom's of coming off of the pill.
After my period had finished I am now still getting the funny stomach tingles (as I call them) but no pregnancy or ovulation test is coming back positive?
Also so unsure when I am due to be ovulating now as the last few weeks have been madness!!
Has anyone had anything like this?

Hi Belle 2008. I don't know much about the pill, even though I was on it for 11 years before having babies! When I came off my pill, I asked the doctor if it would be in my system for a certain amount of time (all of my friends had said it would take 12 months to get out of my system!) Anyway, the doctor said that it was rubbish and that after a couple of days of not taking it, it would be well and truly out of my system. Month 4 of trying and we found out we had conceived, to me, that was quick! I know people that have been even quicker. So I guess, yes you could get pregnant real soon after stopping taking the pill. The only issue you will have is not really knowing how long your cycle is or when you ovulated, so dating the pregnancy might be difficult until a dating scan. Maybe you could leave it a month or so for your system to get into a more regular cycle (use condoms maybe? Annoying I know!) Just a suggestion.
Good luck xx

this happened to me, I came off the pill and fell pregnant before actually having what they would call a 'normal' period, but it just meant I had an earlier scan at around 10 weeks, and then my 12 week scan once they knew my actual measurements/dates so it hasn't actually made that much difference for me. I am now 26 weeks and they haven't altered my due date. I was very surprised at how quickly it happened and we were very lucky, but it can!
