Hi, I have a 28 day cycle so thought I OVed around CD14 but used FR OPK last cycle and LH surge was on CD17 so think I OVed CD 18, which would make my Luteal phase 10 days is that correct? Is this short and how does short LP affect your chances of conceiving? Just asking as I saw cornetto's post on short LP and vitamin B6 and didn't understand it but site's playing up and won't let me post on there. Sorry for all the questions but desperate to speed things up as going onto month 5 TTC now and it's dragging so slowly!

Also since I had my son 15 months ago my periods have been heavier with lots of blood clots and often painful down there, does anyone else get this, kind of like a stinging? Is this normal & Does this affect my chances with TTC?

    Any advice appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Amy. xx

You are correct in how you are working out your LP.

    Found this on FF.com:

How do I know if my luteal phase is long enough?

The normal luteal phase length is from 10 to 16 days. If you notice over a few cycles (with clear ovulation patterns on your charts and accurate data collection methods) that your luteal phase is less than 10 days, then this is something to mention to your doctor who will be able to help you. If you have several cycles with well-timed intercourse during your fertile period, and a luteal phase on the short side of normal (10 or 11 days) then you may also consider bringing this up with your doctor who will be able to help you determine whether or not this could be an issue for you.

    hope it helps xx

Great, thanks for the info! Been looking a bit on the internet and think i'm going to try vitamin B6 this cycle and see if that helps at all. If not i might try progesterone cream next time. Why does TTC have to be so confusing and difficult!
