Trying to conceive

Hello! Just thought I'd introduce myself! Been married since last June, together for 7 years and I'm getting my mirena removed tomorrow.
I'm 23, he's 25 in October and he's in the military. It will be our first child and I am cr!pping my pants! Excited, and majorly broody, but also sooo nervous.
Please tell me I'm not alone? I've started taking folic acid and we haven't fully decided that we will definitely TTC, we made end up using condoms until my cycles sort themselves out but I'd think it's very likely that we would as we are both so ready.

Hi ya. dont worry your not alone! Im just 24 and hubby was 25 in march. me and hubby have been married for 2 years in september, and we always said that we will wait till we been married 2 years or more..... so the other day, my OH came out with 'shall we start trying in september'? i was like......... omg.... lol so we had the 'chat' and have decided to start when we get back from a holiday. I am a bit nervous and anxious as i dont want it to take too long, or to get stressed etc but know that the average time to get PG is 6 months. Ive started taking folic acid already even tho im on the pill so hopefully that will help
when are you hoping to start trying? we could keep each other posted.

Ah that's great to hear! I was really worried because when we got engaged and I started buying things for the wedding I felt that I got 'looked down on' because I was a young bride at 22. So I took my mum with me everywhere!
I'm just worried that people will look down on me being pregnant at 23/24 but then I guess that isn't that young nowadays is it?
We were going to start trying now, but hubby isn't sure on his job security at the moment. We'll find out at the end of the month and then if it's good news then start trying!
I've had my coil removed, which wasn't anywhere near as painful as I thought it would be, and I'm just going to track my cycles until we know for sure about his job. I've started taking pregnancy/ttc vitamins (santogen mother to be) as the Dr said it's just as important to get a vitamin D supplement as well as folic acid and the santogen contained a good mix of all vitamins so I figured I'd do that!

Nah its not too young! ive been with my hubby from the start for 8 years now, so after being married for 2 years it feels like the right time for us now. Well lets hope the end of the month brings good news for you both and that you can start your family
me and hubby started taking the sanatogen mother and father to be tablets yesterday so we can both get all the nutrients that we could possibly need, so the basic folic acid ones will have to go in the cupboard for now lol
I would prefer to try and get all the vits and minerals that we need through our food but with both of our odd working hours its not always possible.
fingers crossed for you

Aw that's so exciting MrsHunt!!
I'm 24 and my hubby's 25 (been married for four years next month! - how time flies when you're having fun eh!), so I know exactly what you mean about being a young bride! I always felt like I had to justify to people why we were getting married (ridiculous I know!).
We're planning on starting TTC'ing in January, although I would quite happily start tonight to be honest!! Lol! I've been taking folic acid for the past couple of months just 'in-case', and so I feel like I'm actually working towards something! Also been off the pill for a few months now.
Amanda - wish my hubby would just come out with it like that! He really wants to start too, but he's being all too sensible about it (got a few things we want to do before we start etc - Boring!).
I'm really excited about it, but I think when we actually start trying I'll be a nervous wreck when reality kicks in!

lol i know! my stomach is getting butterflies already!! i really want it to be after my holiday but i really wanna enjoy my holiday as it will prob be the last one for a while lol
awww cherrycracker- my hubby is usually very very very very sensible and a total pessamist lol this seems to be a corner to turn haha

Oh dear, my hubby has been ready for children for years and years - it's been me holding us back. But then his mum had him at 18, and he is very used to 'young parent's (his grandmother is 62!) and now at 25 he's the oldest person in his family to have not had a child, so he's feeling a lot of pressure.
Is it bad that I keep forgetting to take the santogen? I've tried but there have been odd days when I've forgotten.
I have quite a restrictive diet anyway, although really I get loads of vitamins etc but I don't think you can get it all just from a diet anyway. I can't eat eggs, yeast or raw tomatoes at all, and I tend not to have much dairy, wheat or sugar either. I have eczema and lots of allergies, including food. Doh. Apparently pregnancy can change all of that though?
Where are you going on holiday amanda? We were thinking of going on holiday before TTC, but we've thought about it and decided to just see how things go. We are saving anyway so it might be that we just go somewhere hot for a week or so if we aren't getting anywhere with trying. x
Oh and we've been together for 7 years, living together for 5 and married for 1!

Soooo...me and hubby had a long chat the other night, and we have agreed to stop 'preventing' with immediate effect! So not officially TTC'ing, but not preventing is better than nothing...and who knows what might happen!
So what have you girls been doing in preperation? Anything at all?
11/07/2012 at 20:55
Ah you're not trying not to conceive! NTNTC!
I've started taking pregnacare, and we changed our diets in January to be much more healthy. I also swim three times a week. I want to be as fit as I can be before and during pregnancy so I can 'bounce back'. We are also saving like mad in preparation.
I've decided to start a course in October so that whilst I'm off on maternity I can retrain for a better job when I go back to work which is ace

Oh mrs hunt..... dairy is one of the main sources of eczema so its good you avoid it. All the vitamins you can get the better whether that be in food or tablet form!
hehe were similar to you..... together 8, living 5 and married 2 haha and same age! us young ones know how to live it up lol
as regards to the sanatogen..... i have attached a pen to the calender in the kitchen and hidden my tabs in there so no family can snoop and find.. and once ive taken it i put a small tick next to todays date no-one else will know what it means except me and hubby.
Well we are off to Vegas beginining of sept with a friend of mine and her husbands (who are both school friends) am so excited as ive always wanted to go and this is the chance to have an awesome time.... drink loads of cocktails... eat loads of nice food then get back home and knuckle down haha
Hey cherrycracker= im taking the mother and father to be (mothers bits only lol) tables once a day as of this week... which will be roughly 2 months ish untill we properly start and till i come off the pill so am thinking all the help i can get now the better. Im trying to do more exercise now so that i (like you my hunt) cant bounce back and be as healthy as poss before i get pregnant.

Mrs Hunt - I'm actually planning on starting a course in September too (not related to my work though), which I hope will give me something to work on while I'm pregnant!
I've just been taking folic acid, and been cutting down on caffeine/alcohol etc, wonder if I should take a look at these Pregnacare tablets too!

Awww, I'm 'young' too. I had my first baby at 22. Perfectly planned, been with OH 5 years, living together 3 and getting married in Jan. My dd is 16 months now and I'm always aware of what others might think at play groups etc. I feel I have to make it known that father is still very much present, we have our own home and work and that she was planned!
We're gonna start ttc in Oct i think. Just trying to make it so i'll fit in my dress come Jan if we were to fall pg straight away! xx

Hi, friends there are various things to care when ttc time is dear so ignore to move more outside and take regular suggestions from your doctor. One thing i want to say that, after TTC baby bedding is one of the important task for their health so be contious and use organic baby bedding system, it is a better approach for your baby health.
