Following on from Gillsy's hot tub thread...

have any of your husbands given up anything to TTC?

My H stopped cycling 20 miles a day to improve our chances...and here we are 2 years later and still trying. He's itching to get started again.

No. I tried to persuade my H to not go out and get drunk EVERY Saturday night. I've had not luck with that one.

Apart from that my H is pretty fit and healthy.

H hasn't given anything up (he's actually the healthiest I've ever known him) but he seems quite open to trying the wellman conception supplements. I was quite surprised by that. I ordered them this weekend before he has a chance to change his mind!

My H does keep fit in other ways (football 3 times a week!!) just not doing his other hobby in interest of his spermies.

I think Gillsy might be right Monnie...here's the evidence ;-)

No. He doesn't drink or smoke anyway. Wish he'd stop having baths that are so hot they take off a layer of skin but otherwise I think he's doing okay. Oh and that we'd dtd a bit more often! !

    Caffeine

How to increase sperm count? It is advised to cut down on caffeine intake before, and while you are trying to conceive. Too much caffeine can negatively impact your sperm. Stick to under 300mg caffeine per day, 250mg is even better! Caffeine is commonly found in coffee, tea, cola, chocolate and energy drinks. We have more information on this subject under our caffeine and fertility page which is interesting reading!

He hasnt done anything. He doesn't want to make a big deal of it so I havent pushed it on him.

Its effort enough getting him to DTD more than twice a week the lazy sod! And I always feel like i have to be very sly when I'm fertile. I dont want to come out and tell him its time because it might put pressure on him.

Having said that, if it were to take a while, I'm pretty sure he would try some stuff, vitamins and more in depth tracking.

He's pretty fit and healthy so I think he should be ok. Doesn't smoke or drink lots.

Mine bought the Wellman supplements and cut down on drinking, also made a concerted effort to be back from work at reasonable times so that we had time to dtd. He wanted a baby more than I did for ages and ages and was just essentially waiting for me to come round to the idea so he was straight in there trying anything that would help!

(Just popping in here to say hi to everyone, by the way.)

H hasn't really given up anything. He no longer runs but he planned to give that up anyhow. (Though I have to admit if he hadnt i would have made him, my patience with it was definitely wearing thin). But I haven't given up anything either. Neither of us smoke, we're pretty healthy, not overweight, don't drink much. H takes vitamins anyhow but I don't.
