Trying to conceive

This is the first time I've done one of these - I've been lurking but not posting on the weekly threads as we're not actively TTC'ing yet however I am doing all the other TTC stuff so I thought why not today!
Hope all have had a nice weekend & vibes to those testing or in the 2ww.
AFM I'm on CD 6 today and this Friday will be when we'll hear about my knee operation and can start to plan when to start TTC'ing (hopefully). I'm a little worried about my short 23 day cycle last cycle but hopefully just a blip.
Hello to all that follows!

Hopefully it was just a blip, fingers crossed for friday! Please update us too!

Thank you really hoping for this month but not feeling confident!

You never know, stranger things have happened - I have my fingers n toes crossed for you CC, you deserve this so much x
Oh and, you were right, this temping thing still hasn't worn off me... I'm now pretty much on autopilot with it and, this morning, had my thermometer in my mouth when I properly woke up! hahaha I'm usually impatient and give up stuff quickly so I'm impressed I've lasted this long (5 weeks!).

Thanks, think we all deserve it now.
Haha yeah I like it and I am the same but I like seeing my chart change. Well done for keeping it up though, your be all in the know when you start.

T4yto – yay for joining us in here. Hopefully it was a blip. Hope you get a date your happy with on Friday. It's great seeing how your temp can change, right - and addictive!
CC – fingers crossed you’ve ov’d and this is your month! Try and stay positive, it only takes that one time.
AFM – I had a great girlie night out (my first one since M was born) so my first time seeing properly how crazy my temp goes after drinking and very few hours sleep. Anyway, I’m cd14 today, which would be when I usually ov, so just a case of carrying on with the good bit here and see what temp is like tomorrow too.

Sapphire - enjoy the good stuff :-)

Lol I have never drunk and temoed what does it do to your temps?
Shall we all flash our charts?
17/03/2014 at 11:11
Here's mine, Sorry its big :)
17/03/2014 at 11:14
Great idea CC - I was just thinking about that! I'll flash mine from last cycle as there's nothing much on mine yet for this one.
I've been off alcohol since the beginning of the year so haven't experienced the change. I assume drinking causes the temp to spike?

Did you all have a good weekend? I had a lovely weekend and the extra day off made such a difference! Only thing was I ended up very drunk on Friday and told a few freinds that we are ttc ooops! Oh well like I said to H, I think it is obvious now as we've been married a while and bought a house so a baby is the natural next step. Also everyone else was as drunk so they might not even remember!
t4yt0 - I hope the short cycle was a blip, glad the temping is going well.
CC - I've got everything crossed for you!
Saphire - Sounds like you had a good night out! Enjoy the good bit!
AFM - CD 8 will start opks tomorrow as I'm out tonight, will also try and dtd every other day from today. Bit worried about my scan, it is an internal scan and will be roughly 5 or 6 dpo, would that make a difference? Would it interfere with anything if we did get lucky?
17/03/2014 at 11:17
x posted CC - if I read it correctly, OV looks like yesterday so, as you DTD on the 14th, won't that give you a good chance? Or am I reading it wrong?
17/03/2014 at 11:21
Lulu - Lol glad you have had a nice time lol bless you for telling people your ttc lol.
Thats what I am thinking, hopefully! Fingers crossed, your last chart looked good!
17/03/2014 at 11:23
Lulu sorry missed the scan, well I had an enternal scan when pregnant so no dont think it does any damage :) not sure thats the right word?
17/03/2014 at 11:26
Lulu - Enjoy the good bit coming up. What sort of scan are you having if you don't mind me asking? I had an ultrasound a few months ago and I remember them asking if I was TTC'ing but, as my answer at the time was no, it didn't go any further. I can't imagine it would impact though. Hope it goes well for you. Also, regarding OPK's - how long do you do them for and when do you do them? I'm thinking of starting them this month - just to see really as my charting last month showed a dotted line so I'd like to think I could improve my chances the more data I have to hand.

I will be having an internal scan, I went to the doctors about my spotting before AF and she said she would send me for blood tests and scan for pcos. The bloods came back clear so fingers crossed all is ok. I'm worried because it is internal, I'm sure it wouldn't make any difference to ttc but wondered if anyone else knew.
I've only been using opk's for 2 cycles, I was using them everyday once af stopped but I haven't got many left so only going to do them from tomorrow (cd9). I'm not sure how accurate they are, I didn't get a postive last cycle but did the first, I think temping is the best way which I might have to join in with next cycle lol!
17/03/2014 at 12:03
I had the internal PCOS scan years ago wasnt ttc at the time, but I am sure its not a problem because they would have to advice you before hand not to that month? Clutching at straws maybe haha.

I think your internal scan is the same one I had - I had mine because I was experiencing some pain when DTD so they sent me for that to check if there was any obstructions etc. They first did an external ultrasound (had to drink lots of water) and then, when that showed nothing, they sent me off to pee and when I came back, I had an internal. It was absolutely fine, less uncomfortable than a smear is. It's a long probe thing that they put a condom like thing over & some lube and then they check your ovaries etc. I don't think it makes any difference if you are a few dpo - I just did a Google on it and it seems other women have had it even when early pregnant so it must be fine. Might be worth checking with your specialist/gp just to put you at ease?
Thanks for the info about the OPK's! I'll start mine at CD10 and see how I get on!
*edit* removed the offending d1ld0 word!

Its the same instrument they used on me when I was 7 weeks after some bleeding, I didnt find it uncomfortable at all.
