Trying to conceive

I am new here so would appreciate some advice...
I have only been on the Pill (Femodene) for about a 18months now and have only had three or four "normal" withdrawal bleeds... e.g. most bleeds have happened up to 10 days before the break in taking pills and some bleeds lasted up to 14 days. Have a sneaky suspicion I may have PCOS as have other symptoms (unwanted hair growth).
My partner and I are thinking of trying for a baby soon and I am scared that it will be difficult for us.
Has anyone else had irregular bleeds on any pill? I am trying to pluck up the courage to have tests at the doctors but would appreciate any ideas from you lot out there.
Thanks in advance for your replies

Hiya. Not sure if my tale is of any use! I've been on pill 8 years, before pill I had the perfect 30 day cycle, literally down to the hour! been on a few different pills then decided to come off in dec to casually start trying for baby. Not so lucky!! First cycle was 47 days,, then my last one was 87. I tried ovulation tests to try help and I got a positive. Brilliant I thought but then the tests stayed positive for over a week. Googling this which I know is never good, everything was pointing to pocs. Irregular periods and constant postive ovulation tests, 2 big signs! I convinced myself I had pocs, developed them over the 8 years being on the pill. So I went for a private ultrasound and very thing was fine but I would say definately do it! If everythibgs fine, great! And if not atleast you can start getting it sorted rather than wait the 12 months like doctors say then start investigating! Hope I'm of so help!xx

Thank you for your reply, it just helps to know that other people have the same fears! So glad that your tests were ok! Definetely worth a check up with the doctors, I know. We are getting married in April next year and don't really want a bump under my dress, but wouldn't want to wait till after the wedding and then find it difficult to get pregnant! Will wait and see what the doc says and see from then!
Any more tales of PCOS fears or other irregular bleeds on the pill would be great to read, helps to know I am not alone.
