I had mine this morning. Hope all you girls are up to date!

Just find it such a long time to wait for results, have been told it's 6-8 weeks. Ring the surgery if haven't heard by then.

This is a repeat smear, after borderline changes on my one in November. Just want to know the result now!

I do like the fact that you can be e-mailed, rung, texted or get a letter though. Finally in the 21st century! xx

Yeah the nurse did say ladies going to have them had increased, which is a very good thing. Obviously that's why the results can take a bit longer.

piggy, I always wait for af before booking them too! You need to have it in the middle of cycle anyway, so just easier. xx

Oh dont get me started mithical! I just think it's madness that it takes so long especially for people like you and me who have changes already. The results should be made to be no loner than 2 weeks in my opinion.
Ive had cell changes now for years and they still wont routinely offer me treatment? The doc actually said to me last time "dont worry Mrs D it should take 15 years for your cell changes to change to cancer".......WTF Oh really...well thankyou very much, and you still wont do anything about it!?! He says it just is not in the text book for women of my age to develope cervical cancer??? No idea which text book he has been reading, but he should just read the newspapers for an update!! So im back next month to be checked and taking DH with me for moral support and to tell the doctor what for if he fobs me off again!

Hope everyone is upto date! It just isn't worth leaving it to chance! xxx

Actually think they could do them in pg, because you can safely have a colposcopy. Trouble is if there's changes, you can only go so far with treatment in pg. I remember Lisa Marie on here, decided to wait until after her baby born to do anything. xx

I've just had my letter to book one - I've had 3 up to now but the last one was 2005 and as i'm not 25 til next month they've let it go over the 3 years which i was quite surprised by.

Will book mine in after next af - not looking forward to it but these things have to be done!! x

I've had them quite regulary as had slight abnormal changes, i always find the results come back quicker than they estimate.

Em7 I cant beleive that, what a joke, a friend of mine kept having changes in cells & so they treated them, no questions asked!!! Make sure you dont let them fob you off.

I had my first one yesterday and was absolutely terrified.
As it turned out I didn't find it embarrassing or anything. The worst bit was the nurse talking about nail varnish and other random things that I really couldn't have cared less about.
I was told that I would only have to wait two-three weeks for the results. It must be the area I am from.

I'm glad you are all up to date. I'll just have to see how long the results take. But as I say it seems a lot more ladies in my area, are having them done. xx
