Trying to conceive

Firstly, I just want to apologise for not being around here much and then coming on and posting various questions but I struggle to get on here from my phone and my spare time in the evenings just seems to fly by!
Anyway, I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced bleeding around ovulation? I'm currently CD18 and have had pinkish/brown spotting on and off all day today. My cycles are usually around 35 days so I guess I'm in the middle of my cycle now. Mid-cycle bleeding always unnerves me and I immediately panic thinking something's wrong - I stopped taking the pill in May after lots of breakthrough bleeding whilst taking it, since stopping it however I've had no random bleeding and the swabs taken by GP came back fine, so I'm sure there's nothing to worry about there.
So going back to this ovulation bleeding malarkey, I've had a dull kind of ache low down in my abdomen and lower back, usually where AF pains might be, and I've noticed on a couple of occasions today a slight pain low down on my right hand side. Do you think this is all down to ovulation? I feel just like I do when AF is imminent but I'm far too early in my cycle for that I'm sure.
If you've had ovulation bleeding, how long did it last and how 'heavy' was it?

I haven't had bleeding, but I do get quite bad ov pains. They usually last about 2 days and then just disappear. I hope someone else can come along witn more info.

Hi WG, I've been getting ov pains since I had Isobelle. I usually get spotting 3 or 4 days prior to my af starting. The 1st month I was ttc I was convinced that my spotting was implantation bleeding. It's supposed to be old blood so pink or brown, just as you're describing but it seems a bit early for implantation. Fingers crossed it's a good sign x

Thanks for the replies ladies. I definitely think it's too early to be implantation and, given the length of my cycles, it seems too early to be AF. So it's either a good thing (ovulation) or something more sinister. Hmm.

Fingers crossed it's positive. Our bodies can do strange things. Take care x

Hi WG, I had ov bleeding on one occassion and that was a longish cycle for me so I think it must have been pushing 40 days. I remember reading about it and seeing it wasn't that common but did tend to happen with long cycles rather than normal 28 day length. If that's what it is then there's absolutely nothing to worry about. I regularly expereince ov discomfort as well. I would know when it was happening before an OPK. My first couple of months TTC I actually thought there was something wrong with me because it was so sore but the symptoms you describe don't sound out of the order. Obviously I'm not a doctor so defo speak to your if you are worried.

Thanks BK and Sweetpea. I've not noticed any spotting today and my AF type aches and pains have gone too. Looks like it could've been OV so will see what happens!
