Was just wonderin for those of you that have had ovulation pain, do you get it before ovulation takes place or on ov day its self or both. Am currently on cd28, my cycles since feb have been 28, 24, 22, 23, 22, 17, 15 days.
I had 21 day bloods done last week but they showed I had not ov'd on or around cd14, but had lots of lower abdo pain on cd 19 and cd20, and my gp said I may have ov'd later in my cycle therefore it would not have shown on the test. Just wondered when you get the pain, if I did ov when should I be expectin af. Don't want to do any early tests tooo disappointing. xx

ANY ADVICE LADIES... DON'T KNOW WHEN TO EXPECT AF OR HOW LONG TO LEAVE IT BEFORE I TEST. AM NOT USED TO THIS IT'S A LONG CYCLE FOR ME LOL. XXX

    Hi omm4

If you may have ov'd around CD 20, the I'd leave testing until at least CD 34! Then that gives the longest LP. Although af might get you in the mean time. To be honest with such varied cycles, obviously it's difficult to work out. I mean what was happening with that 15?? No idea how long your average LP is! xx

Thanx mithical. I was thinking that if no af by cd35 I may test. the thing is we did'nt bd much around that time was affraid it might bring on af and soo desperately wanted to get the blood tests done. I know my cycles have been a mess, my gp does think that a longer cycle may indicate that I did ov, and that previous very short cycles were probably anovulatory.
My gp is waiting to see how this month turns out and has said if AF does show he is more than happy to prescribe something to try to regulate my cycle. Fingers crossed things improve either way!!!
