Trying to conceive

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can offer any advice!
I've been around for a while now but I haven't been a very regular poster as have had long cycles so after a while I didn't feel that I had much to contribute to the TTC threads :(
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for around six months now but have been having a bit of trouble with my cycles, I'm on CD109 at the moment and my last cycle was 61 days. It's taken a few months but today I have been diagnosed with PCOS, the doctor has now referred me to a gynaecologist and says that when they did my scan my lining was thick but had areas of cysts in it.... the doctor didn't seem to know what that meant but said it wasn't 100% normal. She said that the gynaecologist would be able to do some more tests.
My appointment is a whole month away. I had hoped that today I would find out my diagnosis and set a plan to kick start ovulation but instead I just got another referral so I'm a bit disappointed as its yet another month before we even start being able to think about regulating my periods. Even then the doctor said the gynaecologist may refer me to a fertility clinic rather than help with hormones etc.
Does anyone have any experience of this who might be able to advise me on who (which department) usually helps with hormone regulation etc?
Also has anyone ever heard of cysts in the thickened lining?
Sorry for all the questions, any advice would be much appreciated!

So people withpcos can do it :)
