Getting Pregnant <
Trying to conceive

I have a few questions about concieving after coming off of the Microgynon Pill after only 4 months of being on it.
I had withdrawal bleeds whilst on my "dummy pill" week and had regular periods before taking the pill altogether. My age is under 25.
I have been off of the pill for one whole month now and have not had a period. I've been experiencing acne, slight constipation, loss of appetite, bloating and mood swings, but I am putting them down to my period coming.
I am just wondering how many of you shared similar period-like symptoms but got a BFP? And also, if my symptoms are normal.

I was on this pill for a number of years (probably 7 in total) went off the pill due to the headaches it was giving me and fell pregnant the bery next month. Sadly ended in miscarriage.
The acne came on so soon after coming off and when period was due the constipation came on and breasts were incredibly sore. Got BFP a week after AF would have been due

Hi, thank you EmmaA1990! I'm terribly sorry for your loss.
I'm glad it may not be just period symptoms.
How did you determine when AF would have been due after coming off the pill? That's what I'm struggling most with.
I put my details (best of my knowledge) into a period track app and it suggested that my period should have been due on the 16th. So now I'd be 5 days late. It's just so hard to know when I should expect my period so I can know when to take a pregnancy test as I really don't want a negative!

I kept the dates of when I was on the pill and just hoped it would stay the same, it was my partner made me test cause I just thought it was coming off the pill and my periods wouldn't have been regular never mind ovulating.
I would test anyways you'll never know till you do

Hi. As far as I know, or have been told, you could have tested too early. I would wait a few more days and test again. If it's negative, arrange to see your doctor if your symptoms don't improve!

Hi Molly, I took my last pill (Rigevidon) on Feb 6th after around 9 years on it. I has my WD bleed but still waiting for AF to show 6 or 7 weeks later. I have had weird symptoms on and off. At various points I have had cramps, "ovary" pain, nausea, headaches, burning nipples, dizziness and mood swings. I think they are dying down a bit now - the first 2 weeks were particularly bad. I have been testing weekly but all BFN so far.
Last time I came off the pill it took me 4 months to get my first period so it can take a while...

Anisa. you have missed a period by 2-3 weeks? You can either wait and see if you get your next period or go to the Doctors for a blood test which is more sensitive and accurate. It will also be able to pick up any hormone imbalances

Thank you so much SugarAndSpice85!
I think I'll take a test tomorrow and see what the outcome is. I'm only thinking about it deeply because I wasn't on the pill long at all. I was on it for 4 months on and off and always missed pills (as my boyfriend used to live away, therefore we didn't have sex often). Can the length of time you're on the pill affect periods/when they return, do you think?
Thank you all so much!

I'm not sure really whether the length of time you're on it can affect how quickly you get back to normal afterwards - I have heard it doesn't though. I have a friend who was on it for 16 years straight (with no breaks, unlike me) and she got back into a normal cycle straightaway.
I have also heard that the affect can be different from time to time for the same person, so someone who gets back to normal straight away once might take take 3 months the next time. It probably depends on a lot of different things, but I think generally most people seem to get into a normal-ish cycle after 6 - 8 weeks.
Hope it works out for you!
