    hello all

how long did it take for your cycles to return to normal after coming off the pill?
My first one was about 4.5 months and then 43 days and I am now on cd45 and have had no signs that my period is coming.

Mine was similar after coming off cilest the last time. 6 months after coming off it my cycles were still all over the place & my GP prescribed me clomid. Thankfuuly I was only on it 2 months before getting a BFP. This is my main reason for not going back on the pill again after having Zara coz I'm afraid of the same thing happening again

i know this may be a personal question but how old are you? As my doctor said they wont do anything until a year of being of the pill and will then investigate. Is it cos I am still young (I am 24)

Dont worry I dont mind you asking. I'm 28 now but was 26 at the time the clomid was prescribed. I didnt ask for clomid but I have read on here that alot of GPs wont prescribe it & refer you to a specialist who will do tests 1st. To cut a long story short. I stopped taking my pill, waited 1 month to ttc, 6 months later I still had no BFP & my cycles, although they were getting shorter were still all over the place. The GP done blood tests that showed I was ovulating but my hormone levels were a bit low due to having been on the pill so she pescribed the clomid to kick start things properly. She knew I didnt have a problem with fertility as I already had a baby so I dont know if that made a difference or not. I've just had my 2nd nearly 6 weeks ago but because of what happened before I've decided not to go back on the pill & start ttc no 3

How long have you been ttc?

I came off the pill in April and then started ttc in november. I wanted to let my body get back to normal. But it still hasnt. I think I will wait a couple of months and then book another docs appt in March cos then I will have been off the pill for a year and this time I will refuse to move until he helps me.

    how long were your cycles?

My longest cycle, the 1st one, was 44 days & then they were 37 or 38 days for a few months & then around 34 & then went back up to 37 again. It was a nightmare coz you never really knew when to expect your AF to come but were afraid to get your hopes up. I tried the ov sticks too according to them I wasnt ovulating & that was when the GP done the blood test that showed I was ovulating slightly but not enough to register on the sticks. The 1st month i took the clomid I was told not to expect anything that month but the 2nd month on cd13 I had such terrible pains inmy lower abdomin I went to a&e & the Dr there basically told me that they were ov pains & to go home & start trying now. He must have been right too

Hiya, I came of the pill last time in April. My GP advised us to wait 3 months which we did. I found out I was pregnant in August so we were very lucky it worked first time. My sons 8 months old today. We.ve been talking about trying for another baby so I finished my last pill pack 2 weeks ago so fingers crossed we're as lucky again.

I came off Cilest in July and my first 5 cycles were 45, 41, 37,38 and 39 days and then this month I had a nasty shock when AF turned up on CD 30! I'm hoping this shows the start of shorter cycles and hopfully the pill has worked it's way out of my system.
Tashaboast, how long were you on your pill? Fingers crossed it all settled down soon for you x

    Hi there,

Since coming off the pill in Oct I still have not had af, I went to the docs and I am having blood tests on Monday. I feel better after reading your messages. Slow I hope your test results are good news? It is very frustrating, it just shows what the pill does to our bodies.

    Hi Dannyf

Sorry not so positive. Low progesteron levels but he said i've gotta wait till May before he does any more tests. So frustrating.

Think he wants to wait and see if it comes naturally, or he's just fobbing me off. You'll have to keep us posted how your results go.
