going into month 9 ttc now. Actually thought might have done it last month as AF was 3 days late- no chance. BFN and AF arrived early Monday.
Don't know what plan of attack will be this month. Had day 21 bloods done last month, everything normal. Also DH had swimmers tested and everything good there also - yay!!!!!
Started with BDing when felt like, then tried OPK for 2 months - got smiley face both times but got really stressed so decided to stop. Been BDing every other day around ovulation, then every day round ov last month - cant keep this up LOL:\)
Can ttc take this long if no obvious probs? DH and me both 34.
What shall I try this month??

Hi Kizzi and welcome to ttc.

Sorry to hear you haven't had your BFP so far but fingers crossed you will get it soon.

Brilliant news that both your tests have come back with good results, what have you been doing to chart ovulation etc since you stopped using the opk's?

We're on month 7 and just going through tests at the moment (but secretly hoping for a BFP this weekend!) so if they come back ok I too will be flummoxed.

I know the *average* couple (I am starting to hate statistics) can take up to a year to conceive so maybe your time is just around the corner.

I hope so and good luck x

Me and dh have started taking royal jelly which is meant to be fab for boosting fertility.

If you are worried I would go docs again. I've read in several places that if you've been charting temps/cm etc, i.e. really timing bd-ing well they will take you seriously after 6 months - having just said I re-read your post and have seen that you have both had the tests which is great. It's hard not to worry isn't it, it's only month 4 for us and I'm already panicking!! x

    Hi Kizzi

Congratulations on the good test results - that must be such a huge relief.

I'm on month 5 of TTC and at the age of 34 I don't feel I have time to hang around! If we have no joy by the end of the year, then we will look at getting tests done.

It hasn't worked yet, but I find I feel better if I know I am doing something positive, above and beyond the obvious BD activity.... So I use a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor because it makes me feel more in control to know when I'm OVing, I cut back on alcohol and caffeine, try to get DH to cut back on alcohol (and there's a challenge!!), we both take vitamins, and on Saturday I start reflexology with a lady who specialises in fertility treatment.

One or none of these may help, but I think the point for me is that I need to feel like I am doing something to help things along. In between all this, I try to give myself small treats to look forward to, to take my mind off the whole thing (otherwise knowing me there is a risk I'll get obsessed).

Thanks for advice and support girls!
Been taking folic acid for 8 months now, also taking EPO for last 2 months after reading about it here. DH taking mens multivatamin.
I've not been chartin temps or anythin coz found the opk for few days too stressful. My cycles vary from 30 to 34 days so to cover all bases make sure we BD at least every day from day 11 to day 21. When using OPK had smiley face on day 16 then 17 second month- both these cycles were 31 days.
Think I might give them another go this month, I know what you mean about taking control
    Thanksx
