Hi, I am brand new to this whole thing and thaught I would post my first question! (Be nice with the jargon, I have no idea 😜) so trying to get pregnant with our 2nd and I have never used ovulation tests or anything before but now partner worka away from home a lot I thaught I should plan better ! I stopped taking my pill on 23/11 and had bleed on 28/11 so I have been testing for ovulation since CD8 ! according tI the instructions if the test line is fainter than the control line it's negative and for the past 4 days I have had a very faint line but today it looks bolder but still not as dark as control lime ! So I am confused ! is this a positive or a negative ? Thanx in advance :)

Hello LWKR and welcome to MadeForMums!
Don't worry: there's nothing wrong with your eyes - we know you've probably had an email notification to tell you someone's replied to your thread but, in fact, nobody has - yet.
Our system is set up to alert you if someone posts on a thread you have started. Because you posted twice (once to start the thread and then again to post up more pics of your tests), the system detected a reply to your opening post and sent you a notification - but it's clearly not smart enough to realise the 'reply' was actually you, posting your second post.
Hope that makes sense!
And hopefully someone else will be along soon to reply to you for real.

Ah ok I see, however it said it was a victoria smith that replied that why I was confused

Really? Wow, that is very odd.
If you have a moment, could you possibly forward that email notification to us at email@example.com ?
We'd love to try to work out why that happened.

Helen... Lwkr is right.... There were a few threads yesterday that listed victoria something as the latest post ... & even gave a time but then when i clicked & looked at them there was no new post.

Yes I shall do that now

Thanks LWKR: got your mail!
And aha, thank you SW2: I think I know what the answer might be now.
We did have a mega-spammer yesterday who was peppering threads all over the forum with posts about 'inter caste love marriage problems' and similar nonsense. We zapped all the spammer's posts - obviously - and removed their registration.
Unfortunately, we didn't note down the spammer's screen name but it sounds likely that this was the mysterious 'Victoria' person - as there's now no one by that name in our members' database.
Apols for the confusion (and the confusing notifications!) and thanks so much, both of you, for helping us sort that out.
Hope, after all this, LWKR, that you do get a proper reply to your faint line question!

Thought it might've been that Helen! Thankyou for sorting that out for all of us & saying push off to another spammer! :)
lwkr... Im sorry no-one has provided you with an answer yet... I've had a good look & thats a really tough call... As you know... A positive opk is when the line is as dark or darker than the control line... That test line is pretty much the same shade but maybe very sloghtly lighter... So does that fount as a positive... I cant be sure! I disnt get on with the 'guesswork' of the line opk's so switched to the clear blue digital ones... They are a little more expensive but give no room for reading error... You get a circle for negative & a smiley face for positive! I swear by them.
hope that is of some help! :)
