Getting Pregnant <
Trying to conceive

Just wanted to know if anyone else gets or has got this? Over the last few cycles, I've noticed cramping after ovulation getting progressively worse and closer to ov date iyswim? As in, in the first few sides after coming off the pill, i was cramping around ov date and af. These days, the cramping starts about 2 days before ov and continues on until about 2-3 days before AF and then starts up again once AF starts.....
Just wondering what it could be? I'm not sure if it's bad enough to go see my doc - i have an inherent fear of going to the doc when there's nothing really 'wrong'! :-(

Random question are you using pregnancy multivitamins?
07/09/2014 at 20:32
hi furmummy! Yeah I am actually, I'm using the pregnacare conception tablets. Been on them about 3 months now.

I had exactly the same problem taking them!

No way?! And here was me thinking I was doing the right thing by taking the expensive vitamins! I shall revert back to my folic acid on its own I think.

Do you happen to know what it is that causes it? Just so I know what to avoid? How long were you on them when you noticed it?

First month! I did google and found other people said it caused pain to their ovarian cyst which I didn't know I had until my pregnancy scan. I think it's worth a mention to your GP.

Thanks for your help furmummy; I'll stop them anyway and go back to FA and see if that helps!

Hiya tayto, I know you posted this thread years ago but I'm in the same boat right now and it's really bugging me!!! I came off the pill 7-4-17 had withdrawal and natural period all normal, but having cramping 3 days before ovulating now.... did you ever get answers or how long did this go on for? Thanks x

Cramping is completely normal before during and after ovulation. I tend to cramp all the way through my two week wait too. As you're just off the pill it's probably your body regulating

Thanks for the reply flybutterflyfly ok that puts my mind at rest a tad then thankyou. I miscarried in January, went on the pill Feb and came off in April... So think my hormones are all over the show... my period came 26 days after my withdrawal and lasted around 5-6 days so was happy with that. Fed up of cramps though they get so irritating after abit don't they x

I'm on my third month of TTC and thought I would join in as I read so many posts!
My first month was a chemical pregnancy and it was just so awful knowing..therefore I have decided not to test until AF has been missed or at least the day of!
I always have quite bad ovulation pains to the point of getting a scan at the docs, they said my right ovary was just slightly swollen with loads of eggs and that its caused by coming off the pill. They assured me it was fine and just will go once hormones are released.
Anyway, I normally have O pains the week leading up to O and on the day, however, this month I have had O pains literally a few days before, during and then from 1DPO through to 7DPO. Since then I've had a slight burning sensation in the evening on 8 DPO and now nothing! I have literally no appetite (which is weird for me) but think its cause I've just resigned from my job so feeling down! I also have lower back pain but thats not something thats odd for me.
Just confused about the pain etc, I was sure I was pregnant but now that I have nothing I'm just down!
Any help or words of advice! xxx

Hiya riacosmo👋🏼 I am still having the cramping too, also had some lower back ache for a few hours on Wednesday night. I'm not quite sure about the burning sensation as I've not experienced that. I think you do right to wait to test until your af is late though hun. Sorry I've not been much help, just thought I'd let you know youre not alone. I vow to never take a contraceptive pill ever again, messed my body up so much x

Heya, thank you for replying!
Yeh I've had lower back pain tonight and a sensation that I'm AF is coming tonighut would be 4/5 days early so I think I'm just anticipating it! Yeh the burning is weird i think I mean more like a prickly ache!?
oh my I am exactly the same, I honestly couldn't agree more, the pill is just so damaging to our hormones what is the point!? I think just educating ladies on how to tell if they are fertile and to be careful. If I had known it wasn't so easy to get pregnant I definitely wouldn't have been on it for so long. I would just use condoms for my feetile week and watch out for ov signs. Saying that, I get O pains which I know not everyone gets so I guess it is more obvious to me when to not be active!
When's our AF due? Xx

Deffo Hun!!!! I had my first baby in 2011 then went on the pill microgynon for 5 years, came off that to conceive and I had absolutely no problems at all, I got pregnant 2/16 but had a stillbirth at 26+6 weeks last august, tried again, found out I was pregnant in December then miscarried 1/17. Thought I'd "let my body heal" so went on rigevidon pill 2/17, it didn't agree with me (kick started my depression and anxiety) so took the last pill 7th April had withdrawal bleed which started 11th and finished 16th, then my first natural af started 7th may. Lasted 5-6 days.... Ten days later started cramping slightly, lower back ache & very tired. Did a ovulation test which came back neg, I've literally just done another and it came back positive!! I'm not ttc but just wanted to see if these cramps were me actually ovulating, for peace of mind really and turns out it is that! xxx
