Hi ND, sorry you're feeling low. It can take time for your body to regain it's natural rhythm after any form of hormonal contraception (the pill, the implant, the injection, the coil) as your body is adjusting to the change in hormone levels being produced. How long you will be kept waiting sadly depends upon your own body adjusting to the change provided by the former dose of your contraception - some will see an almost instint return to normal whilst others can take nearly a year to see a regular menstrual cycle return.
Be patient, it will happen. Best wishes & a sprinkling of baby dust

I'm having the same issue though I was only on the pill for about 2 months before I decided to stop taking them. I know something's not right because my period is late and I have symptoms of pregnancy, but really I don't think that's the case. But the worst part is the depression and irritablity. Does anyone else feel depressed or anything? I am normally a pretty happy person and I have really good life with an amazing husband and all I feel is sadness. I also have a very low sex drive now. I mean my sex drive wasn't crazy high before this, but I still wanted to be intimate with my husband and now there's nothing. And it has nothing to do with him, but he's so frustrated and hurt and he feels like our chemistry is gone which only makes me feel guilty and like a horrible wife which only fuels my sadness. I don't know what to do, and I don't know if this is normal. I've read some places that it is but I haven't seen anyone really post about the depression part of PPA.

Hi megan 2, sorry your feelin so bad. with me its more i feel frustrated at that fact im not in control. i just wanna be pregnant so much and i kno im totally ready for it butthe fact my body wont work is really gettin to me. Ita been 9 months now for me. I think im at the top end of the sale tho most people dont have to wait as long as me i dont think. How long have u been off the pill for? the bodys cruel in the fact that the symtons of coming of the pill mirror early pregnancy. When i first came off the pill i spent a fortune on tests!! Ive kinda accepted that im gunna need help now to get pregnant and i have my next hospital appointment in aug and wile its not ideal coz its so long away, me thinking that nothing will happen to afta then is helping. I kno its hard but try and keep your chin up, afta all your relationship with your husband is the most important thing at the moment. if u wanna talk about what happens next in terms of doctor and hospital appointments then im hear xx

I've only been off the pill for a month, which isn't very long and I've never had issue stopping birth control in the past. A pregnancy wouldn't be a bad thing for me, but I'm not torn up about not being pregnant because I know that when I'm ready it will happen. I'm only 21 so I have a while to enjoy those things, but it's just the depression that I feel and the lack of intamacy that's getting to me the most. Not being intimate with my husband really hurts him and in return hurts me which adds to the weight of depression that I feel. I haven't hit three months yet so I know there's no need for concern and doctor visits yet. I just can't seem to shake the side affects of this stupid thing. Also thank you for you for your reply
